A 5 year aged Extra Añejo this tequila has been showing up in Total Wine stores in my area (WA state). A nice golden amber this XA presents barrel spice and wood on the nose and a very bourbon forward, Jack Daniels?, taste that has little hint of sweetness. The color and taste indicate an honest product, with no manipulation by additive/s. The extended aging also has killed almost any agave in the taste and the rating reflects that lack. Still for the price AND the 5 year age it is worth a shot.

Strong on the nose and on the initial flavor. Smooth finish. I think this is better for mixing, than sipping. Overall not bad for the price.

Baking Spice, cinnamon, rich butterscotch on the nose. Buttery caramel, with sweet agave notes. Very short crisp finish. No bite, but not a huge amount of complexity. Solid extra anejo for the price, but not overtly expressive. Would buy and definitely drink again.

Nothing really stands out about this one, it's not bad, it's just slight peppery, good aroma. Nothing to write home about. $47.00 SF World Spirits Competition 2017 Bronze Medal

Nice, but mild, nose. Hints of butter, vanilla & caramel. Initial sip is so smooth it almost doesn’t register. Buttery caramel flavor. Very smooth finish. Long lasting flavor notes of cherry blossom, and a hint of pepper. This extra añejo is a real bargain! Specialist at Total Wines recommended and said this was from a real artisanal tequila maker. I’ll definitely keep this one around!

Tasting the extra anejo black edition NOM 1459. Color is about the same as most anejos. Little on the thin side, fingers that take a while to appear and don't really last that long. Nose at first pour has some alcohol that fades as it sits and oak. After the alcohol fades some caramel shows up. Taste is smooth but they just can't get rid of all the alcohol from the stainless process. The flavour does longer awhile but not in a bad way. Will have to wait and see how much these change as the bottle sits over time.
