Marbete is from 2011, Mexican 38% abv. version, lote: LT300915/B10, bottled on 10/10/2015, tasted on 7-26-24. Aroma: raw agave, earthy, light dust, light acidity, feels full bodied, reminds me of older Sauza blanco bottlings, after 20 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes slightly sweet and I smell a fermenting agave juice aroma. Wet cement with a hint of sweetness?! Slightly herbal, hint of lactic note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet & sour balance, full bodied, hint of red berry aroma through my retronasal, ends slightly dry. Raw agave is quite intense on the palate and retronasal. Finish is medium to medium long, raw agave with a hint of sweetness, earthiness, hint of wet cement with cooked agave notes that are not very sweet but quite intense persists.
