tasted at mission cantina seattle March 25, 2023 old bottle was pretty well balanced.
Lot 001 | Solid Reposado and very well balanced.
Lot 002 | Lot 002. Lot 002. Lot 002. Lot 002.
Lot 002 | Originally rated as part of the Tasting Panel Kit 1. This reposado is a blend of 65% reposado and 35% extra añejo and has quite a bit of barrel spice on the nose and in the mouth.
Lot 002 | Sweet aroma. Feels great on the tongue/viscous. The sweetness of the aroma carries into flavor but leaves an artificial type of aftertaste on the finish.
Lot 002 | Light Gold color Long slow legs Nice Baked Agave nose Agave Wood Caramel Spicy long but smooth finish
Lot 002 | Honey, flowers, tropical fruit, pipe Tabaco and vanilla on the nose. Fruitiness, with some sweetness and cinnamon in the mouth with mild spice and coconut on the finish. Agave is missing in the flavor. Off balanced.
Lot 002 | Lot 002. Tasted blind. A lot of sweet vanilla in the nose with some cooked agave. Same thing on the palate. I get a slight but definite cork after taste in the finish. This one I would say tastes like Don Lorenzo. A very tasty tequila, but to me it doesn't taste "sincere". To my palate its sweetness taste a little excessive and definitely artificial. Yet again a modern tequila that cuts a few corners to meet the crowds, although I have to admit with very good results. In the end sincerity is one of the things I most appreciate in any facet of life!
Lot 002 | The aroma is very very sweet. I get lots of almond on the nose and it almost reminds me a bit of cake batter. The flavor isn't as overly sweet as the aroma. I get a bit of the almond and a lot of spice. My favorite part is probably the finish where the spice takes hold and kills all of the sweet notes.
Lot 002 | Slight oak/vanilla aroma with a mild finish
Lot 002 | Lot 002. Balanced aromas: agave, wood and spice. Flavors of agave, baking spices, vanilla. A well balanced tequila with a smooth and delicious finish. My favorite of the group.
Lot 002 | Lot 002. Lot 002. Lot 002. Lot 002. Rated blind (.67)
Lot 002 | Lot 002. Lot 2 is even better than Lot 1!! Really nice anise and toasted agave aromas, nice oily mouth feel, and a really wonderful finish.
Lot 001 | Lot 001.
Lot 001
Nom 1445. This is a very nice and interesting juice. it has a definite sweet vanilla aroma with hints of cream soda, slightly reminiscent of old Centinela Repo. It has a pleasant oily and thick mouthfeel. Taste wise it presents a fairly complexity, with a sweet caramel vanilla entry, followed by a lot of nice spice and a medium to long finish. I would prefer it to be less sweet and I don't think it's sweetness is completely genuine. Overall though it's a good tequila.
Lot 001 tasted after aeration. Golden color. Long slow legs. Big pearls. Nose of caramel, agave and a hint of root beer. Agave flavor followed by the caramel and the hint of root beer. Great moist pepper/spice feeling that lingers. I really like what they've done here. The 35% XA portion of the blend from dark char used American oak adds just the right amount of sweetness, thickness, and a nice color. The 65% repo from light char French oak maintains the agave-forward flavor.
Some very nice spice on the nose from the XA. Thicker mouthfeel than normal for a reposado.
candied apple, baking spice, caramel, anise
Lot 001 | A real surprise both with the value and based on the aroma. I was pleasantly surprised.
Lot 001 | Lot 001.
Blind taste tested. This is a horrible tequila with a medicinal bitter soapy flavor. Definitely don't try this one.
spicy corky..tingly tequila
Sweet smell

Lot 002 | Blind tasted: Basic reposado framework and slightly fruity.
