Cooked agave on the nose and some dried fruitiness, nail polish aroma comes through somewhere…. Some barrel spice and oak. Nice little sipper, not to complex.
Got this for a steal $35. This is actually very enjoyable. Nice viscous mouth feel. Loads of caramel, oak, agave, little vanilla, little fruit and some grassiness which is interesting mixed with pitted fruit. With a medium to long finish with caramel or butterscotch that stays on the tongue. Little pepper Definitely enjoyable but a good light everyday sipper. Nothing super complex. But good
Nose: caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, butterscotch, oak, and some agave Flavor: oak, cinnamon, orange zest, agave sweetness, and still a watery mouth feel Finish: medium with hint of agave and pepper
Aroma grassy, herbal, light wood, faint caramel and maple. Agave is in there somewhere. Flavors of creme brule, wood, agave. Actually a good bouquet and balance but wood seems to overpower the agave. Finish is neutral.
Roasted agave, French oak barrel flavor, nuts, pepper, spices, cinnamon, caramel, hay.
love the finish of this tequila no burn and natural sweet. agave, vanilla, pepper in the taste well done
Aroma is heavy scented with sweetness bordering on fake smell. Taste is thin and burns. Finish is ok. Would not recommend. New tasting December 2024. Some of the bad experiences from the previous tasting have gone. Score revised up a few points.
Aroma is sweet fruit with a bit of fresh cut wood. The flavor begins with a nice sweetness followed by a black pepper spice. The sweetness lasts through the spice and becomes a bit much. Almost like a stick of Juicy Fruit gum. The spice lingers for a medium finish. The price point for the repo is more in line and I really want to like this one but that over the top sweetness is just too much. 8/30/2015
Heavy handed on the aging but otherwise a nice, balanced oak flavor.
Wow. Really impressed. At first glance i was turned away but after a little air was introduced it came around like a tiger.
I rated this tequila blind, during the 2013 Spirits of Mexico competition.
Sweet nose with some agave, hint of caramel. Straw color in the glass with lazy adhesion. Creamy mouthfeel. Agave, vanilla and barrel-spice and a bit of ethanol heat on the backs-end. Finish is medium-long with a bit of pepper and smoke.
Nose is cooked agave, oak and pepper. Taste is cooked agave, pepper and oak. The glass was a Chisholm Standard Proof Jarrito.
Carmel and vanilla in the nose and up front in the taste, finishes smooth with a little oak. Reminiscent of clases azul so probably not additive free. I enjoyed this one.
Not for me
Caramel, vanilla, cooked agave, slight cinnamon and alcohol aroma. Cooked agave, caramel, alcohol, hint of chocolate in the flavor. Finish is a tad rough - kind of sharp.
Sweet caramel aroma. Lots of caramel and oak with some vanilla and agave flavor. Medium sweet finish.
Caramel colored reposado. Coats the glass nicely w/ legs. Aromas of oak, caramel, vanilla, slight agave and slight fruit (maybe plum). Caramel, agave & plum (I think) flavors soon transition to slight pepper & cinnamon finish. Not sweet. Oily mouth feel & finish lingers in the throat. I’ve avoided this for quite some time, but my son is a huge Ron White fan and is coming for Independence Day so I thought he’d enjoy. It’s good, definitely recommend.
Buttery start with caramel and vanilla followed with agave. A bit of pepper and earthy finish. Wasn’t particularly too excited with the aroma. Aroma didn’t match the taste.
Light oak on the nose but not much of anything really. Kinda hot but not overly. Light oak, light agave, light vanilla. Basically underwhelming.
Number Juan Reposado! A double oak reposado tequila that I would put up against most Anejo tequilas. This is their Blanco that has been matured in French and American Oak barrel then blended harmoniously together to create this beautiful Tequila! The aroma of fresh agave is definitely present then you get some toast from the barrels. This tequila sings! Great by itself or even better in a cocktail. We did a riff on the Espresso Mexicano! The Number Juan Reposado shined through! Coffee and Repo Tequila are now a thing in our cocktail repertoire! Probably one of the top 5 cocktails I have ever made. It is no secret that the Number Juan Reposado was the right call! A Reposado that stands apart from the crowd! Highly recommend by A Couple of Drinks with The Clarks show!
Honey Jasmine Toffee Pepper Grapefruit zest Cooked agave
Very good. Aged in multiple barrels and at first I thought that it wouldn’t be very good. I was wrong. It is definitely in my top 5. Reposados.
A vanilla nose with a little agave and even less alcohol. I enjoyed the watery mouthfeel which had some oaky ageing and cinnamon. It finished smooth with increased agave and pepper. Oddly, the finish was a bit more oily and had a medium linger.

Number Juan Tried this flight in Dec 2018 when I met Alex in Vegas. UPDATE: I'm not sure which lotes I tried 3 yrs ago, but sounds like those batches were better than what some others tasted more recently. ______________________ The entire line is decent. I liked the repo best. blanco a little hot, anejo a little more
