cooked agave, butterscotch hit first on aroma, with vanilla and cinnamon following, some citrus is there too. flavor is sweet cooked agave and butterscotch. warming in mouth with licorice surrounding the tongue afterwards. medium finish. much nicer than the blanco, especially at a low $30 price point. the wax (aka plastic) covering cork is annoying. synthetic cork though is excellent
This was a good repo, but didn’t blow me away. On the nose was waffles and maple syrup and butter. Palate was sweet cooked agave, vanilla, butter and caramel. Shallow and short finish. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, I was just expecting something more complex.
Sampled at El Buho Sept 2018
Just like the Blanco, not a ton of agave going on, this tequila has almost completely taken on the personality of the barrel it was resting in. Pleasant enough, not elite.
I didn’t much like their blanco, but wanted to give the other expressions a shot. Creamy agave nose, with citrus, vanilla and a hint of pine needles. Some fresh oak as well. A bit of butterscotch tease. Nutty creamy agave flavors with some mild heat, baking spices, and a touch of bitters. Finishes nicely and far better than the blanco. However, there is a slight astringency going on.
Great aroma here. I also like the flavor. Both have some agave, but more vanilla, cinnamon, herbal, black licorice/anise. It’s the finish I don’t really enjoy. A little rough and choppy. I liked this much more than the Tierra Noble Blanco.
Caramel and cream soda nose with thick mouthfeel cover up for the defect in the back that was much more present in the blanco. Finish of varnish.
This was pretty good! Great nose of caramel, butterscotch, oak and sweet cooked agave. On the palette lots of oak, hint of vanilla and pepper. Medium length finish. I liked this better than the blanco.
Butter, caramel, smooth
light black liquorice aroma and taste, really artificial finish though that takes me out.
LOT: TNR056 Drank this blind against some Ocho reposados and was suprissingly close if not better than some of them.
This is buttery with light vanilla and caramel, Has good complexity. A very good Reposado.
Muted sweetness on the nose, very caramel forward. Peppery in mouth feel. Strong caramel notes to taste, smooth going down. Crisp clean finish for a sweeter tasting tequila
The pleasant agave aroma and oaky taste can be enjoyed. There is also a sweetness to the drink. The finish also has a nice sweet aroma. However, the complexity of the aroma is not enough.
This Repo is candy-like and screams additives. Lacks viscosity but finishes strong with pepper. Strong oak flavor with heavy presence of vanilla.
nose- fresh agave with hints of vanilla, licorice, and butterscotch flavor - pepper, agave, cedar, vanilla
Some cook agave and vanilla notes some metal taste Good body and taste is good Is a well rounded tequila, it’s a decent mix or sip
Lemon, honey, floral
In PV at The Tasting Room. The agave really never comes out here. Cinnamon nose. Similar taste with heat building up fast into finish. While not bad, I’m just missing the tequila here.
Smell is very vanilla, like legit Mexican vanilla. Hints of peppermint and eucalyptus. Taste is smooth, vanilla, agave, mild nuttiness at the end. Had at Tasting Room in PV on Oct 1, 2023
complex flavor, but more harsh than the blanco
Black licorice - light
As it should be
Nice smell. Honey/Whiskey flavours. Nice smooth after taste.

Light amber color in the glass. Aroma of cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon and oak. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper, vanilla and oak. Medium finish as the pepper spiciness hangs around a bit.
