NOM 1460 | Nose: some agave, lots of alcohol, sweetness, and light citrus Flavor: oily mouth feel, earthy, sweetness that is not natural, and the bitterness of white pepper Finish: medium with some black pepper

I have used this as a home aging base for many years and surprised to see I have never rated this. Bottles is stamped LT100901 dated 250910. Light citrus and some agave on the nose, a nice bit of agave and sweetness on the palate with some citrus rind bitterness, quite viscous on entry this fades on the finish to slight bitterness. It ages well too.

NOM 1460 | Mexican 38% version. $189 pesos. Nose : A rather unassuming nose. Light pepper, agave, citrus, and grapefruit rind. Flavor: Moderate oiliness. Almonds, white pepper with some bitterness. Finish: A slightly odd sweet/ bitter nuance lingers... A budget pleaser.

NOM 1460 | Compared 2 bottles of this same tequila, same NOM and both 38% abv. Mexican releases. The more recent bottling looks exactly like the photo on the TMM platform, lote: TCB130602, bottled on 19-03-2017. The older bottling doesn’t have lot codes but the marbete looks exactly like the one from year 2004 just without the year stated in the middle of the marbete, this bottle is transparent in the middle but blurry on the sides, points are for the older bottling, tasted on 9-2-24. Aroma: light cooked agave, light green vegetal notes, hint of earthiness, hint of dirt but pleasant, light raw agave, hint of mint, after 20 minutes in the glass the cooked agave note becomes sweeter, light resinous sweetness, hint of chili sensation. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet & sour balance, hint of pepper spiciness, ends a tad dry. Light sweet cooked agave aroma through my retronasal. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of cooked and raw agave, hint of chili spiciness, light resinous sweetness with a hint of fruitiness persists. Newer bottling, 61 points. Aroma: hint of cooked agave, light acidity, hint of citrus, hint of earthiness, after 20 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes quite sweet, similar to unnatural agave fiber sweetness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, hint of salty chemical note through my retronasal, ends slightly dry. Finish is medium, hint of cooked agave, hint of unnatural agave fiber note with a hint of citrus note persists but not too long.

I find the alcohol too overwhelming to enjoy the other more subtle flavours. On the nose there is a solvent smell to the alcohol. Just not enough agave or flavour profile for me. Other Blancos have more to offer for the same price.

Seems to have a new flavor profile circa May 2023. Stronger wood manifests into white pepper after taste. Body-Mid comprised of orange citrus and bouquet of florals _ leaning white 1/1. Mid-top comprised of almond, caramel, and honey. Has semi-good complexity Overall, maybe slightly below 1/2 that as a good rep/anejo. Its the best Blanco I've had at that price point, and am relatively new... in my alcoholic career... before I seek aa. God Bless America

Woof. Not a sipper. I would only mix with this stuff.

NOM 1460 | A lot of burn with little to no full flavor. Would be good as a inexpensive mixer and not a great sipping tequila.
