While aficionados tend to prefer blanco tequilas, and imbibers of dark spirits usually gravitate towards añejos, the reposado category is often overlooked.
Crotalo is a fairly new kid on the block, but has created quite a following with a number of awards. I've had the Extra Anejo and the Reposado...and was looking forward to trying the base of the entire line.
Thick neck bottle, double distilled version with virgin French oak shavings in a cheesecloth tea-bag for 45 days. Agave and almost a lite Reposado (some oak) on the nose. Wonderful, buttery mouthfeel, and tasty spicy agave with a nice warm finish. This is real easy to sip - be careful!
