Nose: agave cooked / smoke / earth / pepper/ lactic funk (very minimal) / citrus/ orange peel / lemongrass / basil / herbs/ hint of flora / Taste: cooked agave sweet / caramel/ cinnamon/ pepper / banana/ slight citrus / mint / tea / cream soda/ Finish: this high proof agave spirit has some delicious sweetness and a hint of cinnamon and pepper spicy that work in concert with each other. It’s a clean rainwater type of mouthfeel that works well to remove the smokiness. This agave spirit has a 46% abv which works well to bring out more robust flavors, which works for me because it covers up a lot of the smokiness. It’s very good, but loses points from me for the bitterness that comes with the smoke.
Cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, vegetal, and earthy A creamy consistency with a long finish. Exceptional.
Nose: Strong immediate vegetal brine with mild agave. Lavender stars to emerge with pepper and lime citrus. Flavor: Starts with light agave and builds into a vegetal black pepper spice with a little vanilla and brine. This is clearly a well made tequila with beautiful nuance.
A complex, dynamic expression of what a masterfully crafted agave spirit can be. Magnificent.
This was a decent tequila but it was also a massive agave bomb. In a different way than others. This was intense cooked agave all the way through. This stuff smells sweet, tastes sweet and goes down insanely smooth. That said, I have had times where I have to stop pouring because I feel like I'm getting cooked agave without the presence of any other significant notes. This is definitely a unique, special tequila.. which is why I love it sometimes and other times keep my distance.
Actually tastes better to me if you let it sit a little while and open up. A little bit bitter right out of the bottle but overall very good.
On the nose it’s agave and citrus… lots of citrus. Silk mouth feel with beautiful beautiful taste. If anyone has ever had green chartreuse or a Piña verde cocktail…. That’s what this reminds me off. Herbaceous with citrus, pineapple. Amazing! I’ve never had any tequila remind me of a cocktail.
Very nice. Loads of cinnamon, vegetal, and earthiness on the palate. With little mineralogy and pepper on the back end
On the nose, very vegetal, and robust agave notes. A little bit of smoke but more like burnt wood, lots of minerals and earthiness. A bit of an herbal quality. On the palate, just rich agave for days. That light smoke is there, lots of minerality. It opens up and the earthy, vegetal notes mellow out a bit and there’s a nice spice to it. Very oily, full bodied, and finish for days. This is excellent. Truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The price is up there for sure, but I’d say this is one of the best of the bottles in that price range. At 46%, they struck a perfect balance between extra heat and flavor, I think this may be a damn near perfect expression of blue Weber goodness.
I just loveeee this brand! The 46% and 50% are my sippers at home. Get at least one expression for your bar
Caballito Cerrero Blanco Lote B.E.03-08 (? hard to read) Tasted 06-2020 Where tasted: el Grito Taqueria, Seattle NOSE: Floral pepper anise agave alcohol Got some complexity TASTE: Grassy vegetal cooked agave FINISH: Lingers with some cooked agave a little pepper and slight heat. OTHER: Agave Distillate. No NOM on bottle. Bartender was selling it as a mezcal. If i was doing a blind tasting, I'd say it was blue weber agave = tequila! Let this one open up. It gets better and sweeter with a little time (not fake sweet tho. In a good way sweet). This doesn't have the heat u might expect from a 92 proof. Very good!
Color label. It was amazing. Probably the best blanco I’ve had.
The best blanco I have ever had
Cooked agave, smoke, grass, well water, cinnamon, minerals, citrus, lime, tropical fruits, celery, mint and rosemary. Palate includes all the aromas plus tangerine, melon or mango, and cinnamon. Finish is warm medium , sweet, lite bitterness, spices, cinnamon and little pepper. IMHO one of the three best blanco I like as of 4/2021.
One of the best blancos out there. It’s not easy or relaxing to drink, so many flavours jumpt out at you but they are so great.
Agave, grass, licorice, vanilla, pepper, and brine with a looooong finish. Very nice!
Beautiful nose. Delicious palate with minimal heat and wonderful agave. A real treat for sure. Keeps you coming back for another sip.
Aroma : Tons of grass and agave on top of some notes of citrus, ripe fruit, and pepper. Taste : Super vegetal flavor that somehow manages to have more grass and agave than the strong aroma would let on. The sweet and vegetal notes are balanced out with some black pepper spice and a small amount of bitterness. Finish : Long and fruity with a pleasant heat that reminds you of the extra abv. This isn't technically considered "tequila" but an agave distillate. I don't typically spend a lot of time around mezcal, but this has certainly convinced me that I should.
New label 'Distillate' - One of my favorite high-proof Blancos on the planet. Giving me amose of honey, spices, cinnamon, smoke, earth, lemon citrus, mint, light vanilla, celery an almost Mezcal presence. This follows through on taste. A nice cinnamon heat going out.. an absolutely stunning traditional tequila.
One of the best blanco’s I have had in a long time. The high alcohol can’t be detected. Delicious cooked agave, light pepper, citrus notes. Love the nose!
Aroma of cooked agave and melon. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper and hint of alcohol from the proof (46%). Nice medium finish.
Agave, mushroom umami, rosemary, buttered popcorn nose. Entry is a blast of herbs and spices, with rosemary, thyme. and black and white pepper burn spreading around the mouth. Medium length finish, with some anise bitterness, pepper, and a mild pop of mint, very nice. Finish could be longer but that's a minor quibble.
Tasted at the distillery. This was my favorite of all the CC varieties. Aroma was unusual and good, taste was an agave explosion and finish was long and warm.
Yes. All of it. Nose, taste, finish. Get some!!

The aroma is bright with citrus, earthy petrichor, a delicate wisp of smoke, intertwined with the scent of rain-soaked soil. On the palate, distinct petrichor carries through, mingling with a lively alcohol warmth, cooling mint, and soft floral notes. Hay, a delicious toasted nuttiness and anise add depth with the main character being a strikingly piquant celery tone which brings a fresh vegetal boldness that engulfs and spreads over the taste buds. The finish lingers with a persistent vegetal freshness, intertwined with the grounding presence of petrichor. A very rememberable impression.
