High-proof tequilas, once only for hardcore drinkers, are now being released at a steady pace. Why?
As we begin a new month, we like to recap the bottles we poured on repeat from the month before.
Unlike the blanco and repo, the añejo actually has a more forward aroma - and it is awful. A strange combination of candy cane, cedar and rubber. In spite of the aroma, the flavor is actually tolerable. Again, an oily texture with flavor a of mint, burnt caramel and a bit of peppery spice. Make no mistake, tolerable does not mean pleasurable or good just not as bad as the blanco and repo. The finish is short. 8/29/2015
