The 3X distillation comes from a redistill of Cazadores Añejo tequila and then re-aging for the Reposado and Añejo, is the story I've heard. Post autoclave diffuser product meaning autoclave cooking and then diffuser extraction and it shows in some serious underlying bitterness not from oak or flavorings. Heavy glass bottle and some custom labels highlight the upscale presentation. An envelope on the neck opens to reveal a 4 panel, business card size foldout that opens to reveal info on all 3 expressions. All the money is wasted though as the tequila is as poor as any mainstream juice can be. Sad really. Bottle is from 2009, maybe 2010 or so and is using real cork. Still tastes vibrant, if poor. The things I do to keep up with Craig, wink, wink...

Last tasting at Baja Betty’s tequila tasting. Good overall and up there for best of the night.

Not too different from the Blanco, I feel like the oak is underwhelming and hasn’t really changed this enough to be relevant.

Sweet agave aroma with hints of pepper, smoke. The flavors of baked agave, oak, honey and spice do not play well together. The spice seems to overwhelm the other flavors.

Not much of an aroma and a rough finish.

Some floral pepper still shines above the caramel vanilla. “Crisper” than other sweeter repasados.

Like many bottles when first opened, there’s a strong, overpowering alcohol burn. All of that subsides when drinking this down the road and leaves behind mostly just sweet aromas that lack complexity. Aerating it as you drink doesn’t pay off and creates a burn that takes away any chance of picking up any nuances of the tequila. I don’t know if drinking this why resting in an arm chair at the cabin is influencing my nose, but I swear there’s roasted notes coming through. This would probably be best served for making mixed drinks.

Sampled this from a 50ml bottle. Smells heavy on oak and tastes heavy on oak as well. Very sweet with a strange aftertaste.

Way to sweet. Tastes fake. Weak aroma. Non- descript flavor and poor, sweet finish.

Smells like a diffuser made product. In my opinion it is a very flawed attempt at tequila. Solvents and chemicals as brand style is not for me. Hard pass!

My taste and smell are off due to covid but I caught strong hints of honey and caramel with some pepper. Much sweeter taste than I was expecting. It has a quick, clean finish(no burn) but the sweetness lingers. I will update later once everything comes back 100%

Dios Mio! That is just heavenly! Aging has had a marvelous effect on this wondrous liquid!

This one really scores low for me because of the price. At the $25-$30 price point I would recommend but there are much better options at the price. If I were tasting blind it would still score low for a weak aroma, flat taste and just not that interesting overall.

Sucked in by the cool bottle. Weak crappy taste. Smells about the same when poured down the drain. Don't think for a sec it might be good.
