I'm trying something entirely new today. The Meloza line of tequilas. I'll start with the blanco, which I have heard some good things about. It's supposed to be a fairly "green" tequila.
Rated blind after aeration. Not much of a nose. When I drew in very deeply, I was mainly getting alcohol, but there's a hint of pepper and agave if you look for it. It possibly gets better after time in the glass, but definitely mild. Flavor is smooth, with some sweetness and hints of agave and pepper. The finish is mild. A very easy tequila that doesn't challenge any of the senses. I'd put this in the same category as Casamigos or Avion, but a much better price point. I prefer something more bold, but if you're looking for something to hide in a cocktail, this would work. $24 at BevMo. (0.41)
