This expression showcased notes of cherry (medicinal), barrel spice is overpowering, rancio notes (tobacco, leather, vintage). It was a bit unbalanced as I didn’t find harmony between flavors
This profile is good and has basic framework Organoleptic structure: Very similar to its reposado expression, just sweeter and oak-forward
This profile is good and has a subtle framework Organoleptic structure: Spices, barrel spice, oak, vanilla, agave is very minimal, licorice & mustiness was detected.
This profile is good and has a nice framework Organoleptic structure: Cooked/raw agave, citrus, lemon, pepper, earthiness, anise, clove & sweetness (brown sugar/molasses)
Aroma: I get a good amount of cooked and fresh agave up front. There’s a little hint of brown sugar, molasses coming through. I pick up a little citrus, like stewed lemon. There is a pop of bright and raw.. citrus. Flavor: cooked agave, citrus, baking spice, like baked yam, clove, a hint of cinnamon. I get that raw, fresh agave I think in the flavor as well. It’s a nice pop of freshness that brings some complexity. I’m picking up some spearmint and anise on the back of my palette that I really enjoy. A little alcohol on the back end. Finish: Nice. Not super long but the agave fades nicely. Not much alcohol present at any point. No real tingle. Overall: this is a gem. Reminds me a little of El Tesoro. Lots of cooked agave, fresh, clean. Got this for $38 in Palm Springs. It’s a steal at that price.
NOM 1580, 3/4/2013, Lote 3, bottle 88. we rated this bottle 5/2022. the bottle was a little less than half full and had been sitting for several years. so that may have affected our review, or it may be because this was not the NOM 1079 XA
Herencia Mexicana Blanco old NOM 1079 La Fortuna. 05/2022 We rated it at the end of the bottle, which had been sitting for several years. it was still very good wish I'd rated sooner tho.
