Baking spices are the stellar components on this tequila, with cinnamon, allspice, caramel and vanilla notes. Barrel spice can definitely be sensed through the finish. Reminded me of holidays season and feels more of an Añejo expression.

Tasted at El Búho. Gracias Don Emilio. Ripe agave, abundant spice and fruit. Caramel and mellow oaking. Vanilla on the finish.

Mineral, earth, agave, melon, citrus, oak, caramel, vanilla, and pepper notes all throughout moss palate and finish. Good value for a good repo. 8.9/10

I get cooked agave, brine, vanilla alcohol on the nose. The taste I get cooked agave, caramel, vanilla and cinnamon. This is a great value. I paid $408 pesos here in Mexico. The Camarena family knows how to make tequila.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: CTR030, bottled on 05-07-2022, tasted on 10-13-23. Color: light yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, light acidity, mineral, light citrus, after 30 minutes in the glass a very light metallic aroma emerges but is very subtle. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour & acidic balance. Finish is medium to medium long, cooked agave with light citrus notes persist.

At PV The Tasting Room. Nose is of cinnamon and barrel but little agave. Barrel and vanilla notes in taste with cinnamon heat in back like a red hot. Finishes similar like a cinnamon candy. Really good but lacking agave flavor.

Smell is caramel, agave, orange, vanilla. A bit of boozy heat at the back. Tinge of color, pretty smooth, but some boozy heat. Had at the Tasting Room in Puerto Vallarta.

Good aroma and good taste but terrible finish. It starts like a $50 bottle and finishes like a $20 bottle. Start sweet and aromatic but it finished like rubbing alcohol. I tried to mix as well but I didn’t end up liking it. Others may though.

I am a little disappointed with this one. The taste is fine: agave, vanilla and a fair amount of black pepper. The initial nose is a bit off-putting, with sort of a plastic-y bandaid scent. The long finish continues the tasting notes, with an emphasis on black pepper. I guess it’s basically a solid budget reposado at a great price (purchased at a grocery store in Mexico). Note: I ended up using this bottle for margaritas.

Excellent tequila. One of my favorites and almost impossible to find. Very nice price that compares to even the more expensive tequilas. A must buy, if you can find it.
