Corralejo Extra Añejo NOM:  1368    LOTE: 17042001 Tasting date 7/5/2022 TMM ratings: Panel 81, community 82, mine 79 NOSE:  Brandy whiskey vanilla caramel TASTE:  Vanilla caramel oak FINISH:  Initially sweet and then drops off fast OTHER:  This is an older bottle of Corralejo = 2001 as indicated by the lote. This tequila is quite sweet, yet I don't get a lot of agave flavor. it's sweet vanilla caramel butterscotch with underlayers of oak. I assume it's artificially sweetened. It is not horrible tasting and you'll probably like it if ur ok with tequila that doesn't taste like tequila. My rating is low because of the lack of agave in the profile, and the high price makes low value

If you let sit for a few minutes before you take sip, it will open new aromas and flavors. Too much in the oak side for me. I would drink it again if offer but won't buy it again. So many good options with better price.

Good starter for a rookie sipper. Way too sweet for me

nice oakiness in the beginning, dashes of vanilla, hay, very light notes of caramel before a bit of agave herbality, then back to the savory, clean and smooth flavor. The finish is short and smooth as can be with a dash of baking spice. A solid extra anejo.

To be clear. This Corralejo is an XA in a different bottle than the one shown. The bottle is not showing on TM so this may be a new venture by this nom. Compared this blind to Terralta XA. No comparison. The Corr is way to sweet. Additives? It has a caramel/butterscotch aroma which comes quickly from the bottle and glass. The flavors and aroma are more of the same. Where is the agave/pepper/cherry? It just seems artificial. Not a satisfactory experience from aroma to finish.

Correlajo Extra Anjeo Aroma: Medium sweetness, with light carmel, vanilla, and cinnamon up front. Oak hangs on the nose along with a slight barrel char. Layered beneath it all in get orange rind, clove, leather, and dried cherries. Quite mellow and light. Pleasant but not outstanding. Taste: Medium viscosity, slight warmth, and a bit more sweetness. 80-proof. Stringent oakeyiness dominates the roated agave, clove, and cinnamon notes. Citrus and vanilla on the mid palate. Finish. A cliff dive after the initial sweetness. This could be a world better if the finish were longer.

Clean nose of lumber, citrus, vanilla extract…. Nice barrel influence, Oak, vanilla, lime, honey butter. Peppery finish with lingering honey. Nice pour…. Attractive price point for an approachable XA @ $79.95 here in North Carolina.
