The To Kalon can sauv can be traced in the mouth and nose, amazing texture and depth, solid mediante and vanilla notes

Don't expect a chocolate bomb. This is an elegant sipping Tequila. Chinese 5 spice, clove, cognac & butterscotch. Flavor is heavy on the palate. Almost warm with rich, lightly smoked oak. Also, black licorice. The finish is more like Scotch Whiskey without the intense finish. Yes, it's very, very pricy. But is a tequila to experience, not just drink.

Aroma: Surprisingly not a chocolate bomb like most Casa Noble products. It's a very unique and complex. It's starting to open up and I'm getting a bit of the chocolate but there is also a funkiness. A bit of clay mixed with fruit and a bit of coffee. Flavor: Again, I'm surprised that it's not total chocolate. You get that as the under note but the fruit stands out. Also a bit of caramel. Finish: Very smooth! Hangs around for a while but is never too much. Probably one of the best finishing tequilas I've had.

The aroma on this is a surprise. It is much more discreet than the big chocolate-bomb that is typical of the CN añejo. While there is a bit of chocolate, this is much more fruity with hints of coffee, leather and clay. While there is definitely chocolate in the flavor there is also quite a bit more - a nice heat combined with fruit and vanilla. A nice spicy bite lingers on the tongue along with an overlay of sweetness. Not sure that the price can be justified but this is something special. And, not your typical CN. 12/30/2016 - 4th Annual Xmas XA tasting. UPDATED - 6/11/2018 (Z) Side-by-side tasting with Seleccion del Fundador II.
