Fairly light in color for an añejo. Aroma is sweet with caramel and fruit (cherry) up front. Barrel is definitely noticeable. With a little time (~5 mins) the strong sweetness particularly dies down and the cherry dominates. Good peppery bite in the initial flavor. Thick and syrupy. The high proof heat is also evident in the flavor but not overpowering. Surprisingly, with the high proof and the peppery heat the finish is very short. Overall, some nice components but this doesn’t really seem to come together and integrate into something solidly good. 11-1-2022

Very interesting. This reminds me of scotch. Little agave and a lot of barrel prescience. Light agave, butterscotch and slightly Oakes. The high proof is a nice touch.

Aroma: Very strong and very sharp. Definitely medicinal and slightly like burnt rubber upfront. It mellows into a mix of pepper, raw agave and vanilla. Flavor: Again, very strong and sharp. I wouldn't be surprised if this is slightly overpoofed (doesn't have the finish of one though). Definitely bitter and earthy. Lots of pepper. The bitterness kind of overpowers everything and kind of kills the flavor for me. *Blind Rating*

Lots of alcohol, bites you a bit too much on the nose, taste and especially the finish. Has good flavor and aroma but the extra alcohol of the 100 proof mutes what may have otherwise been a much better tequila. Also doesn’t have the color and depth of almost añejos, drinks more like a repo. Has a bit of sediment in it, which I actually appreciated. I feel like this would make some killer party margs, and with a little extra booze, may be good to slip into the drink of that special someone in your life.
