How a tequila should be. Great nose with a balance of agave and vanilla.

My most tasted Ocho expression, this reposado is brushed by the barrel rather than being dominated by wood. Spice from the barrel never covers up the agave but complements it and adds a nice oak element to the Ocho blanco.

There are some dark particles that can be seen when the contents are stirred. They do not appear to affect the flavor. Probably from the carbon filtering? It has a nice spicy touch. Well worth it.

Floral and citrus aroma. Immediately noticeable how much thinner it feels in the mouth compared to the 2008 Carrizal. Flavor is relatively weak and indistinct. A little citrus, a little floral, a little black pepper but nothing that stands out in any meaningful way. Similarly, the finish is quick. Overall, this reposado leaves you wanting something more. Tasted side-by-side with 2009 Los Pomez reposado.
