NOM 1558 | Still not blowing my skirt up here, lack of agave and sharpens of alcohol is holding this back. The oak helps but it concerns me that this needs the help.

NOM 1558 | NOM 1558. Aroma is relatively light/subtle with a bit of agave and fruit (red apple). Flavor has a nice blend of sweetness and spice that fades pretty quickly and leaves a slight bitterness. The finish is very short. Pretty uneventful...nothing good, nothing bad just kind of blah. 11/18/2017

NOM 1414 | The label: There is s problem with the labeling. The label should read "reposado" instead of "gold". As a result this reposado can be purchased at a clearance price of around $16 a bottle instead of the normal $36-40. Bought one at Hi Times in Costa Mesa, Ca. yesterday. Now the tequila. Aroma of agave, spice and honey. The sweet agave, vanilla and black pepper flavor leads to a spicy short finish. I liked this one.

NOM 1414 | Triple distilled. Very agave-forward aroma. Straw color. Thin legs. Big spicy flavor and numbing on the gums, no burn. Short finish. Interesting compared to the ArteNOM repo, also from 1414, which is almost the opposite. Gentler aroma, slightly sweet and smooth, with a big finish. The ArteNOM is slightly more expensive. Pura Vida is bold juice for exciting fun.

Not great. Super strong alcohol burn. Almost a sour taste.

thin, harsh on the sip, sweetens up on the finish. Has no weight from being aged, no flavors stand out on the nose or sip.

NOM 1558 | This is tolerable. But so were the oughts. Would I do it again? Yes, but I’d try to lean harder into the hipster thing before it evaporated. And in the same way, I’d want to make sure I was wearing oversized lens-less neon spectacles next time I sip this middling libation. Anyway, this sort of thing is what you get when you distill a spirit past it’s prime- bland, flavorless flimflam that you’ll forget almost immediately.

NOM 1558 | Vanilla aroma. Slightly sweet at first and very oaky at the end. Oakier than other reposados

NOM 1558 | Nose is much better than the blanco, citrus, honey and vanilla. Flavour is in balanced with the finish going quite dry and a bit astringent.

NOM 1414 | Fruity aroma, smooth, however the finish is short. I wouldn’t buy to sip, but would use for margaritas.

NOM 1534 | Aroma is almost nonexistent. Flavor is very bold, and floral. Finish is short lived but that's ok with me it's too much black licorice taste for my liking. Overall a decent tequila

Review #191 - Pura Vida Gold Tequila Reposado

I've had the blanco and anejo from this line and really enjoyed both of them...so my expectations are high.
