NOM 1558 | I’m just not finding any balance here, the nose isn’t shave forward but instead reminds me of toasting almonds....odd! Confectionary sweetness takes over any semblance of flavour and the finish is boozy, not a keeper.

Spearmint and agave on the nose, with alcohol scent. Sweet peppery flavor with mix of vanilla and fruits. Finish sweet and peppery with short legs on glass

NOM 1534 | As expected the Xamay produced product is crap. I have to taste one of these diffuser tequilas every once in a while as a reference point. Medicinal on the nose with a ton of fake sweetness this doesn't disappoint with expectations. Just say no.

See Khrys Maxwell's review. I'm sipping it alongside paQui silvera (same price) and would recommend the paQui.

NOM 1414 | -tasted blind- Caramel nose. Caramel flavor. Pleasant if one dimensional.

NOM 1414 | The nose on the Pura Vida blanco has sweet notes of lemon, cooked agave, rose, and white pepper. Although the entry is really light, it is pretty feisty with notes of jalapeño pepper. The finish is of medium duration, simple and rather dry. Recommended for newbies that want something a little more fuerte, without getting to machismo.

Not bad. Agave forward, Little bit of a weird aftertaste. Alcohol forward

NOM 1558 | Label says 1558 factory. This tequila is just ok. Nothing special. Was hoping for a slight sweetness but it’s dry for a Blanco. But of a taste that is less agave and more of a alcohol taste/metal. Might be ok as a mixer with some fruit or a margarita with some triple sec or fresh lime.

NOM 1534 | Pleasantly tasting and rather smooth with almost no burn. There is an indistinguishable taste not common to tequilas I’ve tasted but it’s not bad.

NOM 1558 | A bit paint thinner like on the nose. Flavour is flat and not awesome. Finish is paint thinner again.

NOM 1414 | The best value in tequila today as far as I'm concerned. As clean an expression of agave as you will find at any price. Better blancos, of which I can think of only two, give you a bit more body, but that's it. On the fruity/floral side vs peppery, but well balanced an complex. A go to to open up the unfortunately ignorant to what tequila can be at a shockingly reasonable price.

Aroma, nice lemon. But too harsh on the finish. Reposado & Anejo much better.

- fruity nose with some vanilla - citrusy with some lemon grass - velvety on the pallet - smooth but peppery clean finish

Review #167 - Pura Vida Tequila Silver Blanco

Pura Vida is another line out of NOM 1414 (probably my favorite). Another celebrity tequila (Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top). I very much enjoyed the anejo and at the price point, I knew that I would buy the other two as well.
