2009 38% Mexican release. Nose: Intriguing aromas of light cinnamon, green bananas, caramel apple and a sharp mineral undercurrent. A fleeting bleach-like note, but not in a bad way. Flavor: A little thin in the mouth but not lacking in punch. Butterscotch, black pepper, light colored tree fruit, feisty baking spices and the sweetness of agave. There is a slight soapy hint. Finish is not complex with lingering pepper heat and minimal bitterness. A bargain tequila from the same distillery that makes Calle 23.

Mexican 38% abv., LOTE 36/03, marbete is from 2002, tasted on 3-17-24. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: hint of cooked agave, light ethanol sensation, hint of acidity, hint of citrus. Palate: confirms aromas perceived but quite subtle, hint of pineapple, ends slight bitter. Finish is short to medium, hint of cooked agave with light acidity with a bitter end.
