NOM 1506 | Heavy molded glass bottle with a big natural cork. This has a big bourbon flavor more like an añejo and some slight bitterness that works in this context. Agave, oak spice and some barrel funk (for me the funk is an element from the aging that is neither sweet as in caramel or creme brule or aromatic as in vanilla) along with alcohol and some woody sweetness. NOM 1506 from A&T Importing, early 00's.

NOM 1416, 38% abv. long tall bottle version, marbete is from 1998 or earlier, the rear label states: PRODUCED AND BOTTLED IN MEXICO UNDER THE PERMANENT INSPECTION OF THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, aromatic herbs, aromatic green vegetal notes, light resinous sweetness, slightly acidic, just a hint of wood note after 20 minutes in the glass. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and acidic balance, slightly minty. A hint of vanilla. Light black pepper. Finish is medium to medium long, a hint of sweet cooked agave, citrus, fruity and a hint of black pepper note persists.
