The difference between the squat bottle of Viva Mexico and this Origen, according to Sergio Cruz, is in the cuts and oxigenation. Nose: Subtle and pleasant. Slightly floral, fruity with some spiciness. A dash of minerals and citrus. Flavor: Natural sweetness, cinnamon and robust pepper. Light vanilla, light salinity. Medium weight in the mouth. A little heat on the way down. Simple and straightforward. For the price point, this is Big Bang for the Buck as a sipper or mixer.

Se me hizo de un paladar muy aguado, es suave, no tiene notas tan cítricas ni de agave que resalten, pero es muy aguado

Aroma had an initial hit of citrus and floral, followed by mineral and cooked agave. Flavor of black pepper and cooked agave. Spicy mouthfeel hangs around for a medium-long finish. And the price is right.

Lot: VMBCO2215. Aroma: cooked agave, light black pepper, citrus, very light lactic note, 30 minutes later a very light briny note emerges but doesn’t bother. Palate: cooked agave with mandarin sensation citrus note, light black pepper spiciness, fades out quite fast. Finish is medium, cooked agave with citrus notes persist.

I was not a fan. I was expecting something very similar to the Viva Mexico. Watery. The finish was not the best for me.
