The alcohol definitely hits you on the nose and the tongue (in a good way). The high proof allows an appreciation of the agave flavors, natural sweetness, but does have a minor bitter finish. A great sipping tequila that belongs in the bar.
Nose- cooked agave, citrus, spring water(lil minerality, pepper Taste-nice agave cinnamon up front, citrus, little anise, pepper. Very clean tasting. UPDATED 12/30/23 loads of cinnamon in the forefront from the cooked agave. Nice subtle minerality throughout, definitely not overpowering but instead enhances the natural agave sweetness. Then flows into the slight bitterness of the citrus. I think some kind of peel, I would say orange peel that goes all the way to the finish line where it’s paired with pepper. Mouth feel is viscous with pepper front start to end. Super enjoyable. Strap in for the ride my friends.
On the nose, brine. Agave, a bit of ethanol but not over the top. I love that brininess. On the palate, lots of agave and “spiciness” for lack of a better term. A slight vegetal note and some ethanol bite. Some cinnamon. Overall solid stuff. Very good price on it too. One of the “smoother” high proofs imo.
Loved both the 101 Fuerte and 101 Artesanal Fuerte. A one point nod to the horno cooked Artesanal.
this arette is fantastic big agave and pepper notes and a bit of vegetal/pineapple flavor. it's a bit hot and pepper flavor intensifies on finish for me. I personally really love that, as I use to drink cash strength bourbon/scotch.
Very strong and peppery
Total agave bomb. Hits you in the face with sweet cooked agave and some pepper upfront, then diminished into a sweet pineapple with nearly no alcohol. Smoother than most 80 proof blancos. Damn near perfect execution here.
I’m impressed. Cooked agave(not raw) with pepper. There is very little alcohol burn. A nice product. (I don’t get the anise that some high proofs have. Thankfully. I dislike anise.)
LOT I292304 Aroma: it smells like ferment, in a very pleasant way, like cooked agave, herbaceous, sweet, piloncillo, pineapple, green apple, lemon, rosemary, a very complex aroma with many profiles but pointing to the sweet and herbal. Taste: very sweet, very herbaceous, tastes like cooked agave, truly delicious from the first sip. A little mint, or something similar that opens the nasal passages. I oxygenate it and let it rest for 15 minutes. Aroma: it seems to me that the sweetness opens up even more, it is more expressive, the rest of the notes are still there, but they even seem secondary behind the sweetness, a lot of pineapple, very herbal, Flavor: it is really delicious, very sweet, very herbal and a little mint in the aftertaste. Slightly astringent with a touch of grapefruit peel. I allowed it another 10 minutes of oxygenation and it tastes better and better, this is undoubtedly a reference to what a good tequila should taste like.
Day 1 Advent Calendar 2023 : Very spicy with a bit of a burn.
Lote: LF122004, bottled on 23-07-2020, tasted on 10-5-23. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, quite minty, fresh, spearmint, light floral note, 30 minutes in the glass the cooked agave note becomes stronger, light resinous sweetness, clean & crisp. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, ends with fresh spearmint note. Finish is long, spearmint freshness with light sweet cooked agave notes persist.
Aroma: agave, mild ethanol, minerals Taste: butter, citrus, agave, pepper, anise, fresh cut grass Finish: long, pleasant finish. The taste of cooked agave really stays for a long time. Overall: a fantastic still strength
This is my first higher proof purchase and I now understand the hype of stronger blancos. Very impressive flavor profile and smoothness from a 101 proof spirit, and at $36. Took me a long time to find Arette of any kind but I have and agree with the community that it is a tremendous value tequila.
Smooth and flavourful artesanal strong blanco for such a high alcohol level. One of my favs.
Absolutely no ethanol on the nose. Very nice smell, maybe grass, citrus. Getting lots of green flavors like a poblano pepper. very nice finish for a 101. Bottle is full of glass bubbles and there is a sharp chip right inside the bottle mouth. Hopefully glass chips are not one of the detected flavors.
I call this tequila my best buy , best value. I use it in Ranch Waters with Topo Chico and the mineral forward nature of the Arette works amazingly well together.
This is a great tequila! In my opinion this tastes similar to the 1123 blancos with the green/vegetal flavor, but it’s got the softness/sweetness of what I would call more ripe agave. This is one of those where it’s nice enough to sip but would really shine through in a cocktail. I’ve been challenging myself to choose 4 tequilas. This fills the Los Valles cocktail spot nicely, and it’s a great price too! It’s sweet, green, nice minerals, with very little bite for being 50.1%
Aroma is agave and pepper Taste is pepper sweet agave and citrus Finish is warm smooth and long
Strong alcohol. Nice strong blanco.
Arette is a solid valley producer, consistently producing highly rated Tequila and this 101 Blanco is no exception. It opens with bold forward flavors enhanced by initial heat that is quick to subside. Complex, balanced notes of agave, citrus, pepper and earth are prominent. Does not taste of alcohol like other 100+ spirits. Well recommended.
Agave fruit and cinnamon on the nose. Clean agave alternating with ethanol and cinnamon again on the palate. Cinnamon, salt and ethanol on the finish. My first > 80 proof blanco. I enjoyed this a lot. Not the most complex, but totally enjoyable.
Nose: Raw agave, alcohol, one dimensional Taste: Big black pepper, raw agave, clove, cinnamon Finish: Long and strong, dry spice

Blind rating: 1/31/2024 score of 89 Aroma: minerality right from the jump followed by a small amount of ethanol. Hints of pear, thyme, anise, clove, and cinnamon. Flavor: lots of cooked agave sweetness followed immediately by minerality and earthiness. There’s a wet cement sharpness to it with an almost watered down grape-like flavor right behind it. Finish is medium-long in length. With a citrus like sweetness and chili pepper type heat that slightly warms the lower chest.
