tried a taste of each expression at the tequila people event in san diego 8/22. need to revisit for tasting notes 10/20/22 agave heat oak cherry nutmeg cinnamon a little green apple slight pepper and a mild lactic smell in the top nose when it sits definitely let this open up. the experience is very different after 20 minutes. I accidentally let it sit over an hour and it was even better

Fan of this añejo. Pricey if you get the horse head, but you save about 35 bucks if you buy the bar bottle, which I did. Warm agave, mocha, caramel, dried fruit, very nice añejo.

Nice sweet nose, wood notes, cooked agave, cherry notes, a lot of sugary flavors in the taste profile, chocolate notes. A whiskey drinkers kind of tequila if that’s what you prefer

Their barrel blending process is their forte. Cabal aged expressions are a representation of good sipping tequila. Loved the transparency offered by the owners on their brand and process. Slightly overpriced (but also this brand is being affected by industry raw material factors). Alternative is to try their bar bottles if the horse head bottle is not as accessible for you as a consumer.

It’s sweet dark chocolate covered cherries on top of cooked agave. It’s an empty whiskey barrel and baking spices. There are hints of leather and soft pepper notes. There’s natural sweetness and a cohesiveness of aromas. There is a burst of flavors. The cooked agave runs from start to finish. I get the spices up front; nutmeg and cinnamon. Then the sweeter notes come in; natural vanilla and a sweet cream / creme brule. The finish is semi dry with some whiskey barrel notes but the sweetness carries through and there is a pleasantly light pepper on the tail end that lingers. Let this Anejo open up then enjoy!

This is a delicious tequila. Upon smelling it, I got oak right off the bat followed by the sweet smell of the agave. I also smelled some pepper and a very slight funkiness to the smell as well. On the tongue it tasted excellent. It was a bit briney and it tasted sweet, oily, and had some caramel notes to it. Overall it was soft and nice to sip on as it went down very nicely. Salud!

The aroma is gourmand, where the presence of oak takes center stage. Subtle notes of ethyl, a hint of smoke, and a touch of sweetness invites tasting. On the palate I gather faint minerality, a note reminiscent of bourbon/whiskey becomes apparent. The savoring unfolds with a refreshing quality, accompanied by subtle hints of brown sugar and a nuttiness. The finish has a fresh and light peppery sensation, accompanied by the gradual fading of oak. Very gourmand and delicious.

Nice Anejo. Aromas - get oak, vanilla, cinnamon, and cherry . Flavor - has a nice mouth feel, get the oak notes right up front, followed by either nutmeg or cinnamon, with some stronger cherry notes. With a caramel finish .

Beautiful bottle, and the nose on the Anejo is very nice. Aromas of Agave, cherry, and some oak. The advice To let this Anejo open up is confirmed. Totally different experience by letting it open up for about 10 minutes. Good balance between agave and oak with a little natural vanilla and caramel flavor.

sampled at the Tequla Ranch in Paramount. and I just had to bring it home with me... nose gives you fresh roasted agave, nice barrel notes, cooking spices and citrus. on the palate you get a burst of cooked agave and roasted pineapple, pine nuts and dehydrated fruits.. nice mouth cover and chest heat. perfect for sipping on a cool night. finish lingers with notes of cinnamon and vanilla... thumbs up....
