Nose is orange with some brine. Unique flavors from the Grand Marnier Cognac barrel and 10 year aging. Not much agave present. This drinks more as a cognac than tequila and has a slight bitter citrus finish as citrus peel rather than fruit or juice. Alcohol and some spice of oak and cedar round out the flavors.

Compared to other extra anejo AsomBroso, this one picks up more of the oak and leather from the grand mariner barrel (along with some orange peel). The extreme aging also provides some nice caramel and toffee. Of course it’s smooth. Another wonderful AsomBroso!

Aromas of honey, cinnamon, caramel and roasted agave blend nicely. Flavors of honey, barrel spice, caramel, agave and cinnamon dance around the top of the tongue. A nice moderately oily finish that mellows quickly then lingers. My favorite in line.

The smell was sweet and wonderful. However, the taste was mostly alcohol with a harsh rasp. Not sure if I got a bad bottle or what. The legs on it where very fast, which is not typical of this version of Asombroso. The Gran Reserva is better at 1/4 the price.

a big Gran Marnier taste, obviously. normally not my style, but this has a richness to it, not like an artificial flavoring. not overly done. this makes for a nice variation on traditional Tequilas. on my 3rd bottle.

This is the most $$$ Tequila I have tried. I would certainly not hesitate to drink it but the price would keep me from buying. Nice citrus and orange, vanilla, toffee. It goes down fast. A very creative ultra premium offering.

Fan of the brand for sure. Creative and edgy. Often the vanilla hints can be a tad overpowering but a unique special edition that is always fun to share with sipping tequila fans. Wish they would bring back old packaging !

nice aroma , a bit of fruit , citrus and toffee, very smooth sipper , allow it to warm slightly by holding the glass and it comes to life , again a bit of fruit , mild orange and a hint of oak. Overall very nice but comes with a price tag.
