Aroma of vanilla and spice. Sweet heat in flavor with a bit of bourbon flavor. Slightly spicy finish with moderate length. 12/17/2023

This has a unique but pleasurable flavor profile. Balanced yet slightly different notes jump out, sweet cooked agave, barrel notes along with some cooking spice

LOT: 2022L Blind tasting with: Tapatío, Siete Leguas, Tepozán, Cascahuín y Herradura, all añejos. View: A very light yellow to be an añejo, pale yellow, straw. Good tear adhesion. Freshly served; Aroma: herbal and immediately woody, astringent, mineral. Flavor: Sweet and astringent, vanilla, wood, herbal and mineral, black pepper. I let it oxygenate so that it opens for 20 minutes. Aroma: mineral and herbal, light vanilla profiles. Astringency and perhaps a little citrus like orange. Flavor: Sweet and astringent, it tastes like wood, a little vanilla, a little astringent and a little black pepper. Maybe a little alcoholic.

A lot of oak and butterscotch on the nose. Light mouthfeel, but it has a lot of oak and cinnamon on the palate. A solid warmth that expands nicely into a solid finish. Not the best anejo, but pretty solid.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: L003, bottled on 29-11-2014, black label with white letters and 2 white horns. Tasted on 10-21-23. Color: light yellow to yellow. Aroma: cooked agave with a touch of sweetness, light vanilla, a touch of wood note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, wood note is more active on the palate. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave note with light vanilla & light wood note persists.

Decent mid body añejo. Just not enough agave or finish.

Ummm- bourbon is definitely there- smooth- the nose is so interesting- I don’t drink many anejos - but this is pretty decent for the price - vanilla, cinnamon and oaky bourbon-

Creamy vanilla, honey, oak, and a hint of cinnamon. Very nice mouthfeel, oily. This is a great tequila to sip after a long day. It’s unique and very easy to drink. Great tequila for around $58-$60!

Tepozan's Anjeon has the same signature as the blanco and repo: a complex and mellow nose with a taste that is bursting flavor and an excellent finish ($60 @ Old Town). Aged for 14 months in American Bourbon barrels. Nose: Mellow and smooth combination of sweet honey, cinnamon, and cooked agave. The oak bourbon barrels notes are mellowed and do not over power. Oak, vanilla, butterscotch and a slight floral and nuttiness. Taste: A burst of bourboned oak, cooked agave, black pepper, and cinnamon. Not quite carmel, but a refined sweetness. Astonishingly easy to sip. I agree with Thom Miller, ' The mellow Aroma actually hurts the rating...' Finish: Semi-sweet and a steady cinnamon warmth carries a long way. A home run.

Very little ethanol on the nose. Aromas of oak, caramel, vanilla, honey, dried fruit, and green bean. I immediately thought of the smell of the Honey Smacks cereal I loved as a kid. The smell is not overwhelming, faint even. It took some time to suss out the notes. Good viscosity that coats the mouth. All the flavors follow through on the taste, with oak, nutmeg and white pepper joining in at the tail end, lingering to the finish. This is good juice and nearly stacks up with the best anejos I’ve tried thus far. Well balanced and subtle. I’m a fan.

The mellow AROMA actually hurts the rating, but the FLAVOR and FINISH makes up for it. The flavor is smooth caramel, vanilla with hint of cinnamon. The finish lingers with flavor, no burn, but wonderful taste.

This is a nice subtle anjeo. It’s refined but not super complex. Nice agave and honey, some minerals, light clay. Semi sweet than finishes as caramel.
