Aroma: A bourbonesque mix of spice and caramel, with some alcohol, quite nice actually. Flavor: Flat, thin, very little flavor, alcohol with some slight caramel sweetness. Finish: Some slight agave on the finish with some spice, caramel, and alcohol burn. Leads into a bitter aftertaste that is not pleasant. Overall: I bought this in the hopes of trying something from Casa Sauza that would be decent. Unfortunately, despite the nice aroma, the flavor and finish fall apart. Would make a passable mixer thanks to the pleasant aroma, but is definitely not a sipper. It’s not a drain pour, but I doubt I’d ever buy it again
Diffuser made. Too much bourbon influence for me. Others may enjoy
Vanilla, wood notes, chestnut, almond, citrus, spicy red pepper, smoke, caramelizad sugar. Finish dry, bitter, and smokey
Starts like a tequila finishes like whiskey. Ends with brined whiskey barrels with heavy pepper finish. I’ve recommended this to my whiskey friends that are afraid of tequila
Vanilla aroma n caramel/vanilla taste... light burn
Sweet finish
Nose: Caramel, vanilla, dark cherry candy, raw oak, a finely ground pepper note, and a hint of bandaid. Flavor: Heavy handed oak presence: whiskey oak, new oak, bourbon oak. Almost acrid pepper and barrel spices, with vanilla sweetness weaving its way through the flavors. Not much agave that I can find. But I’m not totally hating this either... Finish : Some bitterness, a dry sensation to the finish, and dominated by more oak and wood: I get a flavor reminiscent of sucking on a pencil.
This is a Tequila for someone who likes Whiskey a lot. The smell of alcohol is very strong and the price is kind of high for what it is
Cooked agave, vanilla, caramel Consistent flavor and finish throughout, not overally smokey, sweetness.
Aroma=Caramel, hazelnut, nutty Flavor= Sweet cooked agave, oaky, dark chocolate with hint of nutmeg
Tasted blind Nose - Strong bourbon notes and caramel Taste - Full on bourbon notes of sweet corn and agave along with barrel spice Finish - Medium length sweet finish
bananas and vanilla nose. banana entry, topped with honey and cinnamon.
I’ve rated this blind several times and scored it really high each time. I think this is the best product Sauza makes. Surprisingly good.
Quite bitter with an overpowering barrel and alcohol flavor.
Great aroma, lots of peat and scotch. Flavor leaves a little to be desired, acidic, lacks complexity.
kind of tummy... has some spice and kick, for such an anejo.
Nice aroma, but that's about it. Harsh taste and bitter unpleasant finish. Makes ingesting lighter fluid sound almost appealing when compared to this tequila. Hopefully, this is just a bad batch.
A good one, if you like, whiskey, or scotch. But definitely not for me. Bitter on the finish.
oak honey earth maple smooth sipping tequila thoroughly enjoyed this tequila
Mexican 40% abv. totally black crystal bottle version, lote: 100204106, bottled on 09-09-2014, tasted on 12-3-23. Color: light brown to brown. Arom: hint of cooked agave, minty, wood notes that as time passes becomes more intense and ultimately impregnating & astringent, vanilla. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, burnt caramel, wood notes are quite intense & impregnating. Finish is medium to long, intense astringent wood notes with caramel, vanilla and just a hint of cooked agave persists.
nose: butterscotch, caramel, smoky, whiskey, Chocolate palate: Sweet, whiskey, oak, and smoke notes with hints of agave finish: smoked candy Additive bomb reminded me of grand Marnier. If you're into sweet tequila and don't mind additives, you have a winner.
Hard to justify rating this so high, but what can I say? I love Jack Daniels, and this is essentially Jack tequila, them playing God with the process be damned. We all have a guilty pleasure. I can sip on this any day.
Notes of black pepper, agave (cooked), alcohol. Medicinal. Aroma is not terrible but not great. Finish is rough. Wouldn’t really recommend
I felt that this had a very pleasant aged scent and I could smell and taste the agave, but it also had a very strong bourbon taste and feel. I think this is altogether a sub-par tequila. However, I really enjoy replacing whiskey with this tequila. I feel that this tequila excels in an old fashioned, and is my favorite spirit for that and other whiskey cocktails. I do enjoy it a good bit, even neat, but it tastes more like a whiskey made from agave than a tequila.

Not well made, has that certain taste about it. Oh yeah Diffuser alert! Gets a decent mark for price point if you like this.
