I got lots of mint. Which I enjoy. While I appreciate the experimentation, it didn’t feel very different from a regular blanco. My favorite part was possibly the finish. Long, minty, zesty, almost like little minty agave pop rocks on the tongue.

Lot BC 008 Bottled 02/09/2019 Straw colored. Nose: You are immediately greeted with the aroma of mature roasted agave fresh from the horno. There is a panoply of sweet and lively spices mingled with light colored tree fruit and orange peel. A faint nuance of woodiness and warm butterscotch. Some earthy cellar notes, and a dash of black pepper. Flavor: Bold agave is congruous to the nosing. The flavor carries an incense quality that is tough to pigeonhole. Honey sweetness and sensation on the palate - with kicked up pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom heat. Really quite a departure from my experience. Finish: Creamy butterscotch undercurrent, with pepper counterpoint and trace bitterness. On the sweeter side - wouldn’t want to drink it all night.

Taste at London fly-bar. One word - bitter -. I would like to think this is the first part of Mr. Estes experiment and there is better to come. Nose: rhododendron leaves, oregano, treacle, smoke paprika, nutmeg, habaneros and hops. Palate: smoke, agave, charcoal, caramel, dandelion, smoke paprika, tomatoes diced, honey, dough, cumin, turmeric, cassia spices. Finish is bitter and some sweet, with pepper, parsley and toffee.

Aroma is full of cooked agave with a slight black pepper note. There is a definite cooked agave flavor (that is not nearly as sweet as expected) along with a peppery spice. A distinct bitter almond flavor appears at the end. Finish is medium length. This almost seems like a reposado that has been produced from an unaged blanco. Interesting. 04-01-2018

I like this infusion. Nose of roast agave and hints of white pepper. In the mouth it is like chewing on a roasted piece of agave that has been sprinkled with white pepper. Finish fades to some mineral notes with roast agave. If you can't travel to Mexico for roast agave this will do in it's place.

Can taste ocho in it but leaves me a bit unsatisfied? Enjoyed it more on second sitting but still prefer by far ocho blanco or extra anejo!

Normally I would steer clear of flavoured tequilas, but this one gets a purchase since it is flavoured with Cooked Agave (Still 100% Agave!). It has the freshness of a Blanco, with a little extra agave and flavour. The Aroma is earthy agave, grass, and a touch of sweetness that comes across as pear. The flavour is similar to the aroma with definite agave and pear that comes through both bitter and sweet. It's more like a green pear that isn't completely ripe. The finish falls a bit flat though and doesn't hang around for very long at all. In the end it just leaves a little bitterness in the mouth that tastes like you have eaten a walnut. Bought this online in Germany for 23€ (0.5L). NOM 1474
