Mx. Tax stamp from 2008. $143 pesos. I figured if nothing else, this bottle would give me an opportunity to (likely) taste some fully mature agave from years past. Nose: Fruity with ripe berries and dark pitted fruit. Spicy entrance of cinnamon, nutmeg, powdered ginger, vanilla and leather. Just a suggestion of cellar mustiness. Flavor: Medium body. The spices track with the aromas. Vanilla, caramel sweetness with some nuttiness. Medium pepper presence keeps the sweetness in check. Finish hangs in there, with just a touch of bitterness. Not super complex...
Last December, I tasted this amazing reposado tequila. I could perceive the Agave, Vanilla and Orange. This tequila is spectacular, I felt the refined, smooth, and unforgettable flavors. The color and texture are testament of a very high quality. It was around the 100 dollar, but every sip was worth every penny.
It has a white sticker on the bottle covering up NOM 1552, the white sticker states: NOM1479. 35% abv., marbete is from 2008, tasted on 10-8-23. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light stone fruit sweetness, light effervescence, a touch of vanilla, a touch of red berries. 15 minutes in the glass the agave notes become sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour & acidic balance. Finish is medium to medium long, really good considering its 35% abv., light sweet cooked agave with light stone fruit sweetness persists.
