This is a very easy to drink añejo with no real defects but it doesn't jump up and say wow. Nose is very mild with little alcohol apparent in a glencairn glass. Double barreled in American and French oak this has a spicy richness that integrates the 2 oak elements well except near the end. Some agave is present once this is sipped and the alcohol finally appears with a big peppery burst and tingle. This is never sweet and tastes very natural but it ends on a bit of bitterness from the wood. For me the nose and finish hold this back from being a 90 point product

I give this another point as I feel the aging complements every aspect of the blanco. This is a well integrated reposado with no evidence of bitterness or excessive oak presence. Clean and natural in the mouth this has a great creme brule feel to it with caramelized agave and natural sweetness with some oak barrel spice. Nicely done.

Roast agave on the nose with some slight yeast aroma in the background. A rub test between the fingers and in the palm reveals nice vegetal/herbal aromas and no evidence of stickiness indicative of additives. Nice natural viscosity in the mouth and minimal alcohol make this blanco VERY easy to sip long term. Roast agave dominates in the mouth. The finish is fairly long despite a lack of alcohol dominance and presents some fennel and caramelized agave sweetness fading to a slight tongue buzz. I like this very much the newly opened bottle. 03022018
