This Cristalino is created using Authentico’s Reposado tequila. It’s then filtered and no additives are used. This is one of the few additive free Cristalinos. The tequila is clear in the glass and it has nice legs and tears that form. The nose is very soft and clean. There’s a light floral note that sits at the bottom. This is an interesting sip. Up front I get some natural sweetness from the agave but not much flavor. Then on the mid palate some light floral flavor starts to arrive just before some light pepper. Overall I’d say that this tequila is smooth! The Reposado is light but flavorful but once it’s put through the natural filtration process it becomes absolutely smooth. It’s clean and tastes additive free. Anyone can sip this Cristalino neat! It also has a very affordable price tag. My score isn’t indicative of this being a sub par product. It just isn’t scoring well for my personal preferences. There aren’t any flaws detected.

Authentico Organic Tequila matures their Reposado for eight months. They age their blanco for six months in American and European oak barrels that have not previously been used to age any other spirits. They then rest that 6 month Reposado for 2 more months in stainless steel. On the nose I’m getting some light scents of cooked agave and some barrel notes. There’s a faint tropical note and a hint of cinnamon. The nose is slightly floral and clean. On the palate I’m getting some cooked agave and spices. The spices are faint cinnamon and dry barrel notes. There’s some black pepper and some natural agave sweetness. Overall this is a nice light Reposado. It has a little bit of agave, spice and sweetness. This is an easy sipper and one I’d recommend to anyone wanting to start sipping tequila neat. It also have a very nice price.

REPO I poured and let it sit and open. It got better as it sat. Nose is mild, some cinamon, caramel, vanilla, a little alcohol, a tiny bit of barrel notes/spice and banana. Palate this is an easy sipper tho not complex, not a lot of agave or barrel influence. Legs are nice, not too thick Finish is medium with a mild spice and a slight bitterness I enjoyed the nose better than the taste. Would like to try it in a cocktail. Price is right.

The initial nose has some light scents of honeysuckle and mint. There’s some underlying cooked agave but it too is a light scent. Once it opens up it has a nice clean floral scent. On first sip I get some sweetness from the cooked agave. It’s on the front of the palate. As the sweetness subsides a pleasant white pepper starts to appear. That pepper and sweetness continue into the finish. The more I sip I start to get some citrus and minerality. This isn’t a dense nor complex blanco but it has a nice approachable flavor at a very affordable price. This tequila is made with only agave, water, and yeast and it’s certified organic. MSRP 37 - 80 proof / 40% ABV.

I let it sit and open and it got better Nose: citrus, pepper, agave, fruit, some mild funk, basil. I'm not getting mint that others speak of. Taste: agave, pepper, some citrus, cinnamon, a little alcohol but no burn Nice Legs, medium warm finish Solid cocktail tequila and could be an approachable sipper for newbies. It's an easy sipper. its not overly complex. not harsh (trying not to say "smooth") I wonder how it would taste without aeration? More complex? Also, what if they made it without column stills? could improve flavor but also could increase the price?!?!

Overall muted, which I’d expect from a cristalino. A little sweet but not too much. Nothing offensive though, like other cristalinos that have to add a bunch back in to cover up the monster they made. This would be a good shooter, but that’s not my style. I’d rather sip the regular Reposado before filtering.

Muted but fresh scent. Mild flavor like the blanco, but a little more balanced with a blend of sweet and spice. Not much barrel influence. Nice legs cling to the glass. I bet this would be a good one for newbies since it’s on the neutral side and easy to drink.
