Dos Artes Reserva Especial XA NOM 1466 This was my favorite tequila for awhile back in 2014ish. Not sure which NOM it was produced at then, maybe it was 1480. This bottle I'm reviewing is from NOM 1466. I hadn't reviewed it back then and still have a bottle so I decided to taste it again and review it tonight... Nose: Vanilla caramel oak butterscotch Taste:  very sweet, even sweeter than the nose - vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, oak, a little cinnamon. not getting agave. Finish is quick with a mild heat but leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. There's not a lot of heat so I can see why someone getting into tequila would like it. But to a refined palate, it's way too sweet.

Undrinkable for me... Too suspiciously and artificially sweet.

Aroma : Lots of vanilla and and caramel, not much agave to speak of. Some oak and cinnamon. Taste : Vanilla and caramel. That's about it. It's sooooo sweet and thick, and not in a good way. There is no agave, and no complex character to speak of. Finish : Short with many of the flavors mentioned previously, nothing new. It's obvious that additives play a huge part in this. It tastes like someone made an añejo and put a bunch of Splenda in it.

Pancake syrup, literally. Damn you Costco. The ceramic bottle is beautiful and I knew what was inside. Sweet doesn't begin to describe it though. Thick and cloying just won't do.

NOM 1588 | Extremely filled with additives, more of a show off bottle than show off tequila. It’s pleasant and smells like pretty much nothing

Beautiful Tequila- sweet caramel vanilla and butterscotch taste. A bit thick but smooth finish. Easy to drink

Look I get that it’s full of additives and what not but there are so many elements of how beautiful this taste to me all the way to the viscosity of how it sips. Ever since I had this I went on a hunt and recovered roughly 10 additional bottles because it is no longer around for a bit. Not worth the price nowadays but if your lucky to find it around 200$ it’s worth a shot

Very overpriced in my opinion can find a few other great tequilas on the same price range. very oily so slow on the finish not very gentle. But gotta say i like the complexity of flavors.

NOM 1480 | Wonderful complex aromas of vanilla, wood spice, caramel, toffee and fruits. The texture is round and plush in the mouth showcasing the oak influences. Spice notes of clove and pepper dance on the tip of the tongue. This is definitely a fun sipping tequila that will be enjoyed by friends over conversation and laughs. It comes in a beautiful 1L ceramic decanter.

Sweet - Dessert - sipper Almond/Amaretto forward Purists to tequila will turn nose up due to excessive sweetness & flavor, but delicious for masses

NOM 1466 | Smells and Tasting notes of Vanilla and Carmel from the French Oak barrels. Slightly smoky and spicy with a smooth finish. Doesn’t have raw less filtered burn like cheaper made Tequilas. Goes well with medium to full body cigars.

If there ever was a desert tequila category, this one would define it. Super sweet, so beware.

NOM 1466 | NOM 1466 Sweet and syrupy with hints of black pepper. Very easy to drink. But doesn’t taste like tequila... possibly over oaked? Friends really love it... it’s fine but too sweet for me. Cheers

Girlfriend bought this for me because she liked the look of the bottle, I really liked what was inside. This tequila helped steer me back to Tequila after being side tracked by whiskey and Scotch.

Honestly... I bought it for the bottle. Ok... then i drank a bit. While a little sweet, it’ll balance out the rest of my cupboard against stronger, some bitter, a bunch with a bite tequilas. I love all of my tequilas!!! Don’s 1942 being “pretty good”, but not as good as the Tres Generaciones Anejo (super reasonably price). Also not as good as my/the Fortaleza Anejo or reposado. That said... finally a sweet flavor profile that I’ll surely enjoy every so often.
