we tried this from the first lote when they first were abailable = 2017? i dont remember exactly when. bought a bottle of each of Zee's expressions. we liked this one better than the white label because this one wasn't excessively sweet. it was more whiskey forward.

Aroma is oak heavy and whiskey-like. Slight hint of cooked agave at the back of the aroma. Flavor is complex with floral notes, wet stone, burnt caramel and oak. Very nice. Finish lingers with slight heat and nice complexity of flavor. I admit that after the aroma I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I am not a fan of heavy oak/barrel flavors and that is what I expected from the aroma. But, the flavor had a great complexity and avoided the one-note barrel flavors. Very good. 12/24/2020 - 8th Annual Xmas XA tasting

It has been an XA night. Very bourbon forward, this is not like other product from this distillery and over sweetened. Good flavor from the barrel along with vanilla, caramel and some alcohol.

Fantastic aromas in this, citrus, butter, white chocolate, cinnamon, caramel. Flavor has chocolate, barrel spice, citrus and raisin. It is super oily in the mouth and the finish is of moderate length and clean. Not overly sweetened!! Job well done.

Excellent XA with sherry nose, notes of white chocolate and citrus, with super rich mouthfeel. If I were an XA lover this would be a great choice!

Great expression of an XA. Very well balance of oak, caramel (not overly sweet), spices, citrus while still keeping a strong agave presence!

This is an incredibly subtle XA and gets the balance right with the agave undertones shining through the carmel from aging.

Very nice and rich tequila. Good nose, but tastes even better. I like how it transitions smoothly between the agave and the chocolate. I got my bottle for $90 which I think is a fair deal. One of the better XA out there for sure.
