I hate to admit this but I’m really loving this juice, it’s light years better than what I expected from the brand! I’m guessing access to food barrels is the key to making a rich & creamy XA like this one.

NOM 1487. Diffuser? Caramel color? I can't say for certain but I would bet yes. Good entry level I suppose. Sweet, clean, very little agave, vanilla, caramel, short finish.

Harsh aroma. Smooth up front with vanilla present. Pretty harsh on the back end.

Aroma has a definite alcohol smell but it dosen’t take away from the caramel, vanilla, oak and what I can only describe as an artificial cake smell. The taste is buttery, caramel with a light spice and peppery bite but definitely palatable due to manipulation.

Overall ok, and really good for the price. XA are tricky for me. This one is not bad: ok to good aroma and taste, fair finish—but is it the tequila and the process or is it chemical manipulation. Most will think this is good stuff. Drink what you like.

I never expected to give this rating to this tequila. I'm going to be honest I got it as a last hope for cazadores brand. This surprise me it's much better than some extra añejos. definitely will buy it again.

Soft subtle sweet notes in the nose More pal and spices, over powered through this line. This whole line is a strong, boozy tequila. Well suited for some I’m sure, not for this chap though

Dry astringent finish.

Wrong picture? The higher rating could be for the limited edition. The standard extra anejo is not worth 115 CAD. Only use for mixed drinks and even then it's too expensive. Casamigo reposado is less expensive and WAY better to sip or mix with.

Unfortunate how far Cazadores has fallen since changing to a diffuser. Hot, bland, antiseptic. Suspect the nose and the flavor have been artificially enhanced. Sad.

Nose has some nice notes of agave and pepper, but not much else. Light body, additional hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Nice gradual finish, very affordable for an extra anejo.

Review #163 - Cazadores Tequila Extra Anejo

I don't "love" Cazadores as a brand, but the price was too good pass up for an extra anejo. NOM #1487 makes good, but unspectacular tequilas. This is their first crack at an extra anejo, so I figured it was worth a shot.
