NOM 1137 | Aroma: Definitely get some of the same bitterness in the aroma as I did the Blanco. It also has some caramel and oak but both fairly faint. Flavor: There's some oak on the front but the flavor falls off really quickly. It almost tastes like it's 35% ABV (it's 40). I'm really shocked. The bitterness is completely gone but not much going on in the flavor. Finish: Again, not much going on here. Wish it had the nice finish like the Blanco did.

NOM 1137 | Aroma of agave and vanilla and possibly a bit of citrus. Where the flavor on the blanco was complex and evolved, the repo is fairly bland with a bit of sweetness upfront followed by a little blast of spice. Disappointing. The finish is short to medium. 7/4/2017 (vertical tasting)

This was made at NOM 1499, Casa Tequilera de Arandas 100% Weber Blue Agave They use a hodgepodge of used white oak for aging—bourbon, whiskey, cognac, wine—for 6-24 months. Presumably, a crafted blend? Certified Organic by Bioagricert S.R.L. Purchased at Old Town Liquor & Deli Tasted after aeration. Nose at top of glass of alcohol and agave with slight vanilla undertones. Nose at bottom of cooked agave and spice. Not much flavor to speak of—very mellow. Decent pepper on the finish, not remarkable. I'd rather spend my $60 on Fortaleza.
