NOM 1079 | A little overly sweet, manipulated juice for sure. Disappointed, wanted to enjoy this 1079 Añejo. Not one of my favorites

NOM 1079 | Wow very surprising. Found an old bottle for $40 and this is a gem. Nice sweet agave, caramel , light fruitiness, some earthiness right after and a light peppery finish.

NOM 1079 Lot 6. Rumored to have XA in it. I don't doubt it. Gorgeous dark amber. Agave driven, butterscotch, dried fruit, melon, mocha, snickerdoodle, solid and complex.

NOM 1079 | Buttery, caramel, floral, agave, butterscotch yum. Long legs. This is an old bottle with a bit of evaporation and a cork that had to be replaced. Glad I opened it and discovered what was inside.

NOM 1079 | Intense butterscotch, walnut and caramel notes (in the nose and taste). Bought for ~600 MXN which is a great value given its profile. Would recommend to irish whiskey drinkers as it somehow reminds me of some notes I’ve found in those.

NOM 1079 | Aroma has loads of caramel along with baked agave, along with hints of butterscotch and a little vanilla. The flavor is full of baked agave and caramel with a bit of oak. The finish is long lasting with the caramel and agave being the most prominent flavors lingering. Definitely a great tequila from NOM 1079.

NOM 1079 | Straw color. Crisp agave, tropical fruits and round barrel notes. Barely discernible oak. A little alcohol with pleasant nuttiness and pepper. Detecting a bit of brett? Nice finish and oiliness. Very decent.

NOM 1079 | Marbete is from 2017, but no info on QR. Color: yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, slightly lactic, nutty aroma, slightly acidic, piloncillo, alcohol sensation is very low. Palate: cooked agave, cinnamon, slightly acidic, good sweet, sour & acidic balance, brown sugar. Finish is medium to medium long, cooked agave with cinnamon & brown sugar persist.

1079 Oro Azul añejo. Old school juice, no idea on bottle date/lote # Nose: Damp wood and earth. Caramel, vanilla, toffee. Tannins and alcohol really dominate a medium aroma. Palate: Those oak tannins hit early, and are pronounced. And some alcohol. They are followed by toffee again, candied bananas, some light vanilla and dark cacoa, and a touch of agave, and then moderate pepperiness that tapers off into more oak pushing a rather long, lingering finish. Medium weight in mouthfeel and noticeable presence on the mid-palate after finish. This is rich, robust añejo. If you like dark, sultry añejos, this is for you. A nice blend of sweetness with some earthy and peppery support characters that give a nice contrast. Front and back end almost taste like two different tequilas. A very 'staged' flavor profile that is overall enjoyable but let down by a lack of agave and surplus of alcohol and oak. Worth a pickup if you come across one.

NOM 1079 | NOM 1979, Lot 5. Older leather strap edition. I’ve owned this bottle for at least 15 years. Starting to show a good amount of evaporation, so figured I better drink it up. Luckily, no problems with cork. Coats the glass nicely with fairly fast, but thick tears. Nice aroma of cognac with a hint of pear and anise, very pleasant with no alcohol on the nose. Taste is wonderful immediately, no burn at all. Subtle taste of oak, but no bitterness. Again, strong cognac with an almost orange liqueur flavor. Very enjoyable with a nice mouth numbing that last a long time. B+

NOM 1079 | Straw color. Nice agave nose and flavor. Initially taste the cooked agave flavor and then the caramel comes out. Tastes like a tequila should taste.

NOM 1079 | NOM 1079. Well, the anejo is a brother to Ms. Blanco and Mrs. Repo, though the way you can tell is more through the vanilla stones and the strong cheekbones mores than through the nose. Definitely an anejo, but while the aftertaste is spinning off, the vanilla keeps on going. Well done! This tasting makes me happy!

A bit Carmelly in the middle - smells kind of buttery - not the smoothest anejo - buttery flavor with a little bit of heat -

Tasted at home in a Riedel glass. Slight alcohol nose with slow tears. Nice straw/caramel color. Takes a while to open up, but shows a slight cherry with wood nose. Nice initial taste, but medium alcohol comes on too quickly. C
