These newer ones in the cardboard box are barely drinkable. Hard pass.

Earth, soil, black pepper and a slight rubber-like aroma. Nice solid mouthfeel and natural agave sweetness. (Tasted blind.)

Pepper, chemical, and short of agave on the nose and paled.

Too bad it has that chemical nose, it really starts this off on the wrong foot. Lots of black pepper and mango, it falls off pretty quick but possesses a flavour profile that will likely appeal to novices tequila drinkers.

Nose: Minerals, agave, candy like tutti fruity sweetness and a bit of citrus. Flavor has some syrupy sweet overtones, bitterness and back end pepper. Finish has an odd aftertaste element. Unremarkable.

LOT: 12/19 Qualified blindly in tasting between: Reserva de los González blanco and Casa Dragones blanco. View: Completely transparent, good tear adhesion to the glass. Freshly served; Aroma: It has a chemical component that stands out immediately, a bit like nail varnish or acetone. I think that behind that strong chemical smell I can distinguish a bit of raw agave and herbaceousness, but it is difficult to detect. Flavor: that chemical component is also in the flavor. Behind the chemical is a bit of sweetness from the agave. I don't notice too much complexity in the flavor, just those two profiles, first chemical and then slightly sweet. There is a light citrus aftertaste, a little orange peel. I let it rest for 10 minutes to oxygenate and open up flavors and aromas: Aroma: The chemical component is still very present and does not allow you to smell beyond it. Flavor: It tastes like what it smells like, it is difficult to find any agave flavor, minerals or other components. It's not disgusting but it doesn't taste good either.

Bottled: 21-IX-15, Bottle No. 02909 Aroma: Bright ripe and sweet garden fruits, apples, pears even with a hint of banana. Clean destillate with no faults. Palate: Very smooth and sweet agave. Juicy, alcohol at first almost not detectable. Very clean. Finish: Long with fruity sweetness on the tongue. Hope there is no added sugar. Conclusion: A very mild and mellow, sweet and smooth spirit with fruits and agave on the forefront. No smoke or alcohol. Obviously made for neat use. Perhaps a bit too flat. Some minerality and terroir is missing here. Still a decent value. What’s annoying is the wax above the stopper which is very hard to remove. Need to take care that no wax is getting into the glass. Update: I’ve made a couple of cocktails with this one and have to say I’m positively surprised how good it works. It adds a noticeable kick of fruity agave and earthy mineralisation which I didn’t recognise neat. Very good!

Exciting to try a premier tequila from such a well known brand such as Jose. This tequila is good bit doesn’t come near the quality of a patron or don Julio. Overall a fun experience though!

It seems to be the same as the other, only the word "Platino" is bigger? Its still Reserva de Familia.

NICE surprise - bought it to round out my RDLF trio and was not expecting much - but actually is one of the better blancos I've had

Aroma is ok but has a heavier scent than most Blancos and it doesn’t have any sweetness. Smooth and balanced mouth feel that isn’t oily or watery. Flavor is more robust than other blancos but not as refined or laid back. Finish is a tad harsh and has a mild bite. Aftertaste has a slight linger. Way overpriced and not a top blanco, but at the same time not horrible.

smells sweet, soft tongue touch, light alcohol, mild fire breath turned warm. early finish is the alcohol breath, final finish is okay.

Nose is bright, crisp , and full of fruit, accompanied by the usual pepper presence. Overall a pepper forward blanco with fruity, crisp agave. This line is overpriced, however.

Excelente. Sabor terso, elegante y perfectamente bien definido que se disfruta con un final largo en boca.
