Same as the Lote 42/43 Fortaleza this is the MX only version. Large quantities were consumed during Lobster Bus 12 at Angel del Mar. Puerto Nuevo Baja MX.

Lot 66 - This bottle is special because it was a gift for my 25th birthday. Very nice body. On the nose, sweet oak, vanilla, agave is still present, low alcoholic note and soft caramel. On the palate, agave, wood, vanilla and a soft touch of barrel spice and a very subtle alcoholic taste. You can drink this for hours without feeling drunk. Wooden finish, soft but long lasting. A very special añejo, probably its only downside is that it is difficult to find and its price.

Very nice aroma. Its got alot of sweet, cooked agave with caramel and vanilla. Very good palate, coats the mouth nicely. Strong cooked agave presence throughout with butterscotch and oak. Definitely one of my favorite añejos.

Lot 49a. This is exquisite. Luxurious. Complex and satisfying. Perfect expression of aged agave. I should have rated it 100, but if I did that I would not need to try other tequilas. And who knows, maybe another batch of this from the Fortaleza distillery will come out even better! Seriously, this is top shelf añejo. Considering price vs excellence, nothing compares to this.

Lot 12 | This is an interesting one. There’s not much in the nose; hints of sawdust and a bit of lowland-mezcal mustiness, but not a lot else. In terms of flavor it’s also somewhat eccentric- a certain brininess is present throughout, and there’s a lot of oak (duh), cooked agave, vanilla - the usual. The finish is notably mute - it just sort of falls off after a certain point. Interesting, and I’d definitely recommend it to the connoisseur, but perhaps not to the n00b.

caramel, vanilla, hazelnut, delicious. I think the only problem I have is the price. the product is exceptional though.

NOM 1493 | Found this in Baja México. About $30 less than in Arizona. Great aromas and flavor. Strong cooked agave, carmel, and spice. On the sweet side but would be good as an after dinner drink.

Out of several anejos purchased stateside in the US over 5 years combined with several only available in MX, this is my new favorite. Known as Fortaleza in the US. Los Abuelos in MX. The bottle and handmade stopper are very cool. Very smooth agave, butter hints. Scent has nice fruit tones. Bought from Emilio at El Bujo the price was very good. Even better get it in Tequila town. Going on my top shelf. This is from Lot 35-A
