Nose: Fruity and floral aromas laced with cinnamon, nutmeg and light clove. A dusty touch. Citrus and anise pull up the rear. Flavors: There is bitterness, light pepper and a hint of caramel. The nuances of the nose flatten out to a nondescript heat. The bitterness dissipates as it opens up. Finishes with an anise note. This tequila had been sitting on a shelf for a very long time. At $125 pesos, it was worthy of a try.

Mexican 35% abv. version, lote: LEVR015, bottled on 23-01-2021, tasted on 12-28-23. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave! A touch of jalapeño spiciness that dissipates. Light stone fruit sweetness, citrus, slightly herbaceous, slightly earthy, light acidity, very well balanced. After 30 minutes in the glass a hint of lactic note emerges. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, flavors are not very intense due to low abv. but enjoyable. Finish is medium, hint of sweet cooked agave, light citrus and slightly earthy notes persist. Note to self: drink this tequila sooner than later after serving.
