NOM 1438- there's an artificial taste to me, and there is a huge difference between the original 1426 and this 1438. This has additives and tastes it IMO

NOM 1438 | All I can say is WOW. Reminds me of a good fall/day. The agave, caramel and chocolate blends together really well. Little to no oak presence. Nice creamy mouth fell that makes you want more. Every sip is a journey.

NOM 1426 | 100% organic blue weber agave from the lowlands, baked 48 hrs in brick ovens. Juices extracted using the traditional tahona method. Double distilled in stainless steel pot stills. White oak. The blanco turns into what you would hope after resting in the wood. The pearls and legs are still there. A nose of agave still with vanilla added. Not watery in the mouth. Also tastes of agave and vanilla with caramel added. Slightly sweet, maybe a little fruit comes through, definitely in the finish. Finish is smooth. Pepper/spice sensation is rounded out a little. A fantastic value. Purchased at Old Town Liquor & Deli $23/750ml

NOM 1438 | On the nose, it has a sweet and mellow aroma. On the palate, this is gonna fall on the sweeter end, bit it makes it a good tequila for people that left tequila behind in younger years. There may be additives, but it is smooth and enjoyable. The bottle nails the sweet notes, so it’s not like they are trying to be hardcore agave purists. The price and profile make it a great buy to enjoy or take to a party.

Review #262 - Don Cosme Tequila Reposado

Final review of the Don Cosme line. The entire line has been kind of a ho hum experience. I'd love to tell you that it's a gem for under $20, but the anejo and blanco haven't qualified for that designation.
