Oak, caramel, cherry, baking spices. Not too complicated but a very pleasant easy drinker.

Carmel vanilla oak agave and a tiny bit of cherry, buttery. similar nose to the repo with a little more heat. interesting that the repo is aged in 4 types of barrels, whereas the anejo is aged in 3. tho I like the repo a little better (maybe the lack of french barrels?)

Lote1 gift set. Have always liked this brand. They have new bottle design, but the current tequila is just as tasty as this first lote . Salud Adolfo Murillo!

Aroma : All cherry, berry, agave, oak and caramel on the nose. Taste : Notes from the aroma carry through here too, just with a little more spice. Finish : Medium/long with more fruity notes, and some caramel as well. Another great expression from Alquimia. The Blanco and Reposado definitely have a more "buttery" aspect to them, but this has the fruit notes, which is always welcome.

Aroma: Notes of cherry, almond and caramel. This is one of those tequilas that reminds me of eating biscotti. Flavor: With how complex the aroma was I was hoping the flavor to follow suit. Unfortunately it was fairly simplistic to me. Oak is present here but not overwhelming. There's also a hint if citrus. Finish: The finish is slightly harsh and lingers for quite a while as it moves slowly to the back of your mouth.

This is a very smooth and drinkable anejo, and I love Alquimia as a company. But I miss the "baked" flavor of the brick oven and the complexity it imparts. Still, it's very good.

It's like candy. Lots of caramel, vanilla, sweet agave. Surprisingly little wood presence given its aged for 2 years and 11 months. My favorite of the lineup.

The anejo has amazing plum and wood notes in the nose! The aromas and flavors carry through from the blanco to the anejo - spice, citrus and pitted fruits. But in the repo and anejo they get buttery barrel notes of vanilla and cinnamon. An excellent line-up!

Whew- this is very nice. Aroma starts out with caramel, vanilla, oak, agave, and spice. Taste- wow- after airing out for about 10 minutes this sis incredible. Agave, caramel, oak, vanilla, earth, and light pepper. The Finish is wonderful. Hints of pepper lingering, agave, barrel spice, caramel, and vanilla. It’s really an amazing tequila.

Beautiful aroma, buttery vanilla/caramel nose. Initial flavor is agave forward, with a pretty quick alcohol burn which extends for awhile, to a large extent. Maybe a bit too much burn for a sipper.

This bottle was a gift - I love the brand. However I think the Reposado is the best for the money. Aroma is good with a little alcohol burn and at the finish. Good overall taste.

A fair representation. Opens with agave then smoothes out nicely. Would prefer a bit more character mid taste but not bad

Tequila Alquimia – Just What the Doctor Ordered

One of the newer brands on the market that caught our attention was Tequila Alquimia, an organic tequila made in the highlands of Jalisco. I distinctly remember Grover pulling me aside at the Monterey Tequila & Mezcal Expo and saying, “You need to try the
