The bottle I tasted from was so filled with diffuser aromas and distillation defects that I couldn’t take more than 2 sips.

Blind tasting with: Centenario Plata, Hacienda de Tepa Blanco and José Cuervo Especial LOT: ? I did not find it. View: Totally transparent, tears that correspond to a distillate of this grade. Freshly served; Aroma: very discreet, a little citrus, salty, some notes of black pepper and some chemicals. Taste: if no one told me that this was a tequila, I would most likely think it was a commercial vodka or some poor quality rum. Nothing reminiscent of agave in the flavor. A very generic astringent aftertaste, perhaps citrus. I let it rest for 10 minutes to open aromas and flavors. Aroma: Still the same, unpleasant. Flavor: Quite similar, It could pass as a cough syrup.

Mexican Plata 35% abv. versión. Lote: 23058N0344, bottled on 27-02-2023, tasted on 10-11-23. Aroma: red pepper, light jalapeño, light herbaceousness of agave is present but the red pepper and jalapeño cover up a lot of agave aromas, a light metallic smell. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, red pepper and jalapeño are not very evident in the mouth. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave with a spicy sensation persists but not too long.

Aroma of agave and a hint of solvent, probably from the diffuser. Flavor of alcohol and not much else... fortunately. Not much of a finish.

I found this on a shelf in Tucson. Manager said it had been there a few years. Fresh agave, bell pepper, celery and mineral on the nose. Vegetal, cooked agave, pear in the mouth. Cinnamon, black pepper and alcohol in the finish.

Review #194 - Antiguo Tequila Blanco

From the Brown-Forman/Herradura giant distillery (NOM 1119), this is my first shot at any Antiguo variety. I'm not the #1 fan of Herradura, but I'm always willing to try something new.

Antiguo de Herradura is a fine, traditional tequila good for sipping and great for cocktails

Originally developed in 1924 and served exclusively to guests at Casa Herradura's Hacienda San Jose del Refugio, Antiguo Tequila was released throughout Mexico in 1995 to commemorate Casa Herradura's 125th anniversary. As of last year, Antiguo is availabl
