Nose: Minerals, earth, citrus, herbs and agave. Flavors: Ripe agave, cherry, anise, and minty basil. Balanced pepper to round it out.

Mexican 38% abv. version, marbete is from 2012, tasted on 12-28-23. Aroma: cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, earthy, dusty, licorice, green vegetal notes. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, dusty sensation is stronger on the palate, slightly drying. Clean & crisp. Finish is short, cooked agave with light green vegetal, earthy and slightly dry sensation persists but quite short.

Nose is a bit one note, you do hit a bit of varnish in there but grassy and green. Not necessarily my cup of tea, some chocolate and cherry there. Not nearly enough agave for me. Finish mirrors the nose, with a very abrupt and drying finish.
