Same distillery as Frida Kahlo and Baluarte. Not a bad reposado, it has some bitter barrel notes on the tongue and in the mouth that I generally am not a big fan of. In this case it fits in with whole overall flavor profile and I am not grading down for it as I would when it doesn't fit. A very long finish, several minutes in fact. After it sat in the glass for a few minutes I picked up some cinnamon spice notes along with a fruity undertone. Nice overall.

Picked this up on a whim (since my last name is Valencia lol) and very pleasantly surprised. If this were a beer, it would be a Belgian IPA. Great florals and spices. Nice reposado. Already bought a second bottle.

Review #151 - Marquez de Valencia Tequila Reposado

I'd never heard of this tequila before...then the tequila buyer at a West Coast liquor store recommended it to me. And I'm glad that he did.
