The nose and flavour until mid palette are bang on, you can close your eyes and get all the sensations of walking through a distillery! Loses me a bit at the ending, tons of sweetness shows up that doesn’t fit with the rest of the profile, it’s a pretty big let down. A decent effort that I think will be popular amongst the rabble.

Aroma: At first, the strongest note is very medicinal. Behind that I get a bit of vanilla, agave and pepper. The medicinal note softens over time but it's still pretty harsh on there nose. Flavor: A lot smoother than I was expecting based on the nose. Lots of cooked agave and pepper. Finish: A little harsh but lingers for quite a while. Not perfect but far from terrible.

Initially, the Amate has a strong aroma of alcohol/petrol. But, with a few minutes that subsides and a distinct anise aroma emerges which is then layered with a sweet, fruity follow-on. The initial mouthfeel is relatively thin and the flavor is dominated by a peppermint followed with black pepper and moderate agave. The finish is relatively brief. This is a fine middle-of-the-road blanco...nothing bad but nothing particularly good. 06/18/2017 (vertical tasting)

NOM 1137 | Mexican 750ml. 38% abv. blanco version, it has a hollow front label seeing through bottle to info printed on the inside of the rear label. Tasted on 10-11-23. Aroma: sweet cooked agave but subtle, acidity, herbaceous, light black pepper note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and acidic balance, but subtle. Finish is medium, light sweet cooked agave with acidic balance persists.

Easily one of my least favourite tequilas I’ve ever tried. It’s got a minty flavour to it, which I find completely out of sync with everything else that’s going on within it, and usually a sign of a tequila’s having been created with a diffuser. Everyone else seems to love it. I’m baffled.

Bright with Asian pear with a touch of agave sweetness on the nose. Flavour is fairly light but has an edge for the finish which falls off quickly.

Citrus and green olive nose. Somewhat sweet and brine entry with ample agave gives way to medium heat, minty finish. Not particularly complex but a pleaser to my palate.
