Full on agave, roasted and caramelized along with some green pepper notes. Serious lip buzz from the alcohol on the finish. Wish I had more of this older bottling.

Complex nose. Fresh cut grass, dill, nutmeg and baked agave. Flowery and vegetal. Taste starts with with spicy sweetness and vanilla/agave follows. Nice mouth feel. Some nutty notes too.

Old bottle, dated June 2007. Light nose, slightly savory and sweet. A tinge of sweetness on the entry, quickly turns up a nice heat. Green olive and bell pepper finish, with lingering black pepper. Recommended if you come across one of these older expressions.

This is the old style version of Centinela blanco (round bottle, white label) and it is a stellar tequila choice. If you spot one of these bottles, grab it.

Centinela blanco (old round 1L bootle from MX) has a nose that is a little sharp but with notes of lemon, cut grass, and a touch of brown sugar. I found notes of lemon, cream, the juice inside a chocolate covered cherry, and even a touch of chocolate in the finish.

The bottle has changed from what's shown. I noted a smell and the taste that was different than anything that I have observed before. This was tasted at a restaurant in Guadalajara. So not sure how long it's been sitting. I noted something that tasted more to me like an industrial cleaning products somewhere in the flavor profile but still sweet. It overpowered everything else that I could sense. Might need a re taste

Has a certain almost shrillness to the flavor. Almost a minty-ness- is this bad boy diffused? Not my favorite - kind reminds me of Olitas - but still decent. It may be a little high on the additives.

Nice crystal clarity & legs in the glass. Nose starts with a fresh agave fruitiness backed up by some green olive & seagrass. Not overly sweet or fruity on entry...vegetal flavors dominate with a sharp hit of black pepper. Finish slow fades but turns a tad bitter. Overall a decent blanco at a bargain price of $20.00.

Review #324 - Centinela Tequila Blanco

This is an authentically & well made blanco. It has all of the elements that you look for, but it adds a bit extra in the cinnamon/spice hint to make it stand out.
