Better than the Reposado by a wide margin, this is nicely aged with some oak spice, caramel and agave and fades to a nice slightly sweet finish.

Very little aroma other than alcohol and a touch of wood. Flavor is heavy alcohol with a slight agave/wood mix but not enough to distinguish it as tequila, then more alcohol. Burn not too bad but if I tasted this blind and someone told me it was Cutty Sark, I would believe them.

LOTE 8EA056D17 14:48 08.04.17 BATCH NO: 107AAT BOTTLE NO: 2462 Slightly warming initial nasal impact. Aroma is heavy on caramel, some vanilla and then......? Nothing much. Watery mouthfeel with sufficient alcohol. Bitterness and acidity lead the way on flavor. Caramel and vanilla show strongly. Backend is like drinking the last sip of whiskey on the rocks after the ice melted. An odd numbing occurs and the finish reminds me of novacaine from the dentist office. No depth, no complexity, no thanks

The finish in this is the only outstanding thing that I have to write about.....it’s long and lovely. Unfortunately this tequila doesn’t commit to a path, it disappears out of mind the moment you’re done.

Lots and lots of agave, caramel and vanilla on the nose, taste and buddy. Strong agave and caramel finish. Lacks silk and oil on the glass but makes up for a good long after taste of agave and butter/ vanilla.

Nose: Wood and alcohol are the first to arrive, followed by some fruit, vanilla and cinnamon. Flavor: Pepper and cinnamon- almost like a”redhot”.

Aroma: wood, baked agave, vanilla and spice. The flavor runs true to the aroma with a bit of sweetness Medium body with a modest and extremely smooth finish. A pleasant experience

GLASS: Straw color, lots of small hanging pearls, thin legs. AROMA: Agave, alcohol, generic woody notes. MOUTH: Mild, slightly sweet, slightly buttery, possibly less drying effect from the tannins than in the repo. FINISH: Small burn going down, numbing effect on upper front gums and mid-tongue throughout the enunciations, some buttery after effect on top of tongue. You could sip this neat, but it may be better iced. You could mix this. However, at this price point, there are better options.

Interesting flavor, more of a reposado. Just not smooth enough for an anejo.

nice sipper.. complexities have me having to come back... coming back to try again and dislike the scent and flavor.. I guess the palate is getting picky.. going to the cocktail stockpile.

This is the first taste I ever had of a quality sipping tequila (yes, I was brought here by Entourage), and it opened my horizons. Still my absolute favorite. Incredibly smooth and marvelous flavor. No one I've ever introduced to it was less than amazed.

There is nothing special about this one. It’s easy to drink with a smooth finish but it lacks the flavor of most anejos. For about $50 there are plenty of better options out there. The bottle says it’s Rich, Warm Oak and Vanilla but it’s not rich and the vanilla is faint. The flavor and color more resemble a reposado.

Quite frankly it is the name that is expensive. The flavor profile does not fit the description... this añejo tastes like a reposado in other brands such as don julio or patron

Best of the three varieties. Still a bit harsh on the finish. But way better taste than the silver or the reposado.

Review #158 - Avion Tequila Anejo

Avion Silver won best in show at the SF spirits competition. I had that and I was anxious to see if the rest of the line lived up to the high standards set for the silver.
