Forget Cristalinos and embrace some real agave innovation.
In this list we’ve included a few of the cheaper, more readily available tequilas to help set you on your way, along with a few more expensive treats for the experienced agave drinker.
While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked
every now and then I revisit this tequila, and I come up with the same result. i give Patron props for their community involvement, but I don't care for the flavor profile of this tequila, never have. thinking they use immature agave and/or they don't cut enough of the green off the piñas. it's too harsh for me = too much alcohol and pepper, bitter notes. don't get much agave at all. not my style of tequila, and IT'S WAY OVERPRICED!
